Selbs - I have entered Bristol Half marathon which falls 2 weeks before Berlin, but will run it at marathon pace I would think, well I will tell myself that but when a race gun goes so does my common sense half the time
Ok anyone else not liking the bugs that are out this time of year? I think I took in enough protein on my run to need any for dinner! oh and ran blind for half my run whilst trying to get them out of my eyes!
1st taste of a P&D special last night ahead of next weeks programme (18 week to Berlin) thought I would try a lactate threshold run: did about 10 miles with about 4 miles at half marathonish pace in the middle
I have started using a heart rate monitor again, old school simple S120 polar.
warmup 4 miles around 75% max
4 miles tempo 85% max (although at first struggled to get heart rate above 81% which was bottom threshold until I remembered you're supposed to relax when you run and not try!!!!
In conclusion, loved the run and felt like my first proper training session for years - I can see why people rate this style and look forward to what it does for my times
