I'm running London and am hoping for about 3.20. Normally I wouldn't race the week before a marathon but there is a 10k race that is part of our club championship and it's also a Kent Grand Prix race so I'd like some points for myself and our ladies team.
I was hoping to do the 10k in under 42mins but my sports massage guy says he doesn't think I should run a race so close to the marathon. I suppose I could turn up and just jog it round but I don't know if I could hold back and not race properly.
What does anyone suggest? Is it best if I don't race? Will it do me any harm if I do?
Along with a few other female club runners (why is just the women were asked?!) I''ve been asked to make a cake for a cake stall on the day so all the runners can pig out on cake with their cider at the end of the race.
Any requests - chocolate, victoria sponge, rice krispie cake?!
