Thanks PhilPub. Yeah I'm planning something around 6 miles next Tuesday with a couple at MP, my last run will probably be the Thursday and I'll include a few strides. Resting today, so hoping I'll be feeling a bit stronger tomorrow!
I ran the Paris Marathon on the 3rd of April and am due to run London on the 24th. I've run a fair few marathons, but it's the first time I've run 2 marathons in a short period. My plan was to run Paris at my training pace which would hopefully leave me feeling strong for London and able to go for GFA again. Paris went off without a hitch and I managed to maintain an even pace, although it did take more out of me than I thought. The legs felt recovered by Thursday so I was hoping to just pick up my London taper, which was a 17 miler last weekend. Had to cut short the weekend run to 16 as I clearly hadn't fully recovered. My issue is that I haven't got too much slack to play with in terms of my GFA, so getting the right balance between recovery and training could be crucial. My training peaked at around 60 miles a week and my plan over the next week and a bit is just ticking over really, with a 13 miler at the weekend. What's everyone's thoughts/experience on this?
I've run it twice now and clocked 26.4, everyone I ran it with also has 26.4 and a few running buddies randomly asked if it was long! Not the best measure as it includes a few tunnels and lots of high buildings, but wondered what the general feeling was.
