Science in Sport Go

'A PRE-RACE FAVOURITE'
Strengths:
SIS Go tastes good, which is beneficial in a pre-race drink as it should encourage you to drink more. I mean, if it tasted like flat turnip juice you wouldn't take more than a couple of sips, but you'd definitely take more than a few good swigs of this (I recommend the lemon'n'lime flavour). It is also supposed to be of special benefit for running in hot weather, but I can't vouch for that as I live in Scotland.
Weaknesses:
None that I can think of, although you might get some funny looks if you carry a bottle in your hand luggage when travelling abroad for a race.
Overall:
It's hard to say how much your performance will improve by quaffing this stuff, but it is very palatable and - in my experience at least - doesn't cause any unwelcome mid-run stomach problems. Very good value, easy to mix, and well worth a try. I've used SIS Go for a few years now and have never needed to try anything else.

'PERFECT FOR REFUELLING'
Strengths:
Easy to prepare, and the taste (judging by the banana flavour at least) is delicious - worth doing a hard session just so you can drink some!
Weaknesses:
Can't think of any.
Overall:
A very palatable post-run drink, particularly suitable for recovery after a race.

Saucony Progrid Omni 6

'AS COMFORTABLE AS AN OLD PAIR OF SLIPPERS'
Strengths:
Great cushioning, nice design, very easy to run in.
Weaknesses:
None that I've noticed.
Overall:
Very comfortable shoes at a decent price. They seem slightly wider than the Omni 5's, but I may just be imagining it. Regardless, I recommend the Omni 6 to anyone requiring a good pair of stability shoes.

Science in Sport Go Gel

'EASY TO USE, DECENT TASTE'
Strengths:
Easy to open while running, and quite conveniently, you'd don't need to take it with water. Decent taste, no horrible after-taste.
Overall:
Nice tasting energy gel. Unlike some others I've tried, GO Gel isn't too thick, sweet and gooey.

Navman R300

'PRACTICAL, STYLISH, AND VERY EASY TO USE'
Strengths:
Easy to set up and use, provides accurate pace and distance information, which is perfect for my requirements. Also gives kcal and altitude if you're interested. The Navman looks great, and is light and comfortable - you hardly notice you're wearing it.
Weaknesses:
It can be a bit tricky to screw the battery cover back on, but it's secure once it is done.
Overall:
The perfect accessory if you want to know how far and how fast you're running. Wouldn't be without it now, and I find it particularly useful for measuring new or unfamiliar routes.
