'A VERSATILE HR/SPEED/DISTANCE FOR BOTH RUNNING AND CYCLING'
Strengths: Versatility between running and cycling speed and distance. Software has excellent session analysis tools. An accurate HR monitor, as you would expect from Polar.
Weaknesses: Fairly bulky watch. To be worn only for running/cycling! Footpod, although light, requires frequent battery changes. Calibration of the running footpod is complicated. Infra-red download is reliable, but bit slow. Not cheap!
Overall: I've used my 625x for 2 years now and would be lost training without it. The HR monitor is accurate, and the speed and distance monitor is never more than a few yards out over 10 miles. I spend roughly equal amounts of time running and cycling, and the watch switches seamlessly between the 2 modes. The altimeter is a useful feature for profiling routes and analysing the HR data. Would I buy 1 again if I lost it? Definitely.
