'Memory foam maddness!'
Strengths:
Provides good support
Weaknesses:
Memory foam is not responsive and gives you blisters.
Overall:
I have been running for the past 7 years, 5 of them in asics GT series. For the first few years I suffered from blisters until I found the GT series. I have had no problems since until this version. It can only be down to the memory foam insole. After about 4 miles you can feel your feet start to heat up and a few miles later...blisters galore. Why mess with something that isn't broken?!! There seems to be a fashion for memory foam in everything recently but it isn't working in running shoes.

'GREAT TRAIL SHOE'
Strengths:
Comfort Levels High, Toe Protector, Supports foot well, Look great.
Weaknesses:
Quick lacing system leaves you with a long piece of lace sticking out. Needed to tuck it inside the shoe after catching it on a rock and nearly breaking my neck! Grip could be better.
Overall:
Great shoe. Was worried about getting blisters as I sometimes sufffer with road shoes but these did the Garburn 21K without any problems.

Weaknesses:
Mesh Upper is difficult to clean
Overall:
The only road shoe I'll wear.

'THE HEART RATE IS THE LAW!'
Strengths:
A completely different outlook to running. Get results quite quickly. Useful for coming back from injury and charting progress.
Weaknesses:
A bit Hey Hey USA. Got to get initial base rate and max rate right or the whole thing falls flat on it's face.
Overall:
Not a bad book, but couldn't permanently run by these rules.
