Strengths: Very lightweight, moves well, no rubbing, wicks perfectly, looks good and wont break the bank.
Weaknesses: None at all.
Overall: I've used both the long and short sleeved shirts from Puma, I've got nothing but praise for them, they have never rubbed, even on 20 mile training runs is the scorching sun or summer downpour! Quality shirts.
Strengths: Smooth heel to toe transistion, just the right amount of support and cushioning for a performance shoe, non restrictive sock like fit, lightweight, look fantastic!
Weaknesses: Performance trainers are not for everyone!
Overall: Asics have come up trumps with the DS trainer XI. When you run in this shoe, you will want to go as fast as possible! They are unbelievably comfortable and the smooth heel-to-toe transition and low profile begs you to push the pace as hard as possible. I have used these for club speedwork sessions and races all the way from 5k to 20 miles, they have been perfect. This will be my marathon shoe come April 22, they say a lightweight shoe can knock valuable seconds off your times, I'm really looking forward to testing that theory!
'WOULD MAKE A GREAT FIRST TIME BUY INTO THE WORLD OF HRM'S!'
Strengths: Amazingly easy to use, the personal zone finder feature works very well and will prompt you for a retest every 30 days to see how you are improving, theres a calorie counter so you can see the amount you're burning on and after a run, It's very comfortable to wear too and all the information is easy to read on the run.
Weaknesses: I've experienced some cross talk between my heartrate monitor and others while out on a club run. On occasion there have been erratic jumps in heartrate while running near powerlines.
Overall: Easy to use and some great functions. If you are thinking of using a HRM for training you should take a look at this.
Strengths: Comfortable straight out of the box, fantastic blend of cushioning and stability.
Weaknesses: Not very responsive for pushing the pace but then it's not what this great shoe is about.
Overall: Another great shoe from Asics, this really is one of the most comfortable shoes I've tried. I'm running 35-40 miles a week in them, no problems with the cushioning and not one blister. Top marks for this shoe!
