The good thing about it is the rohust design of both the watch and the GPS. On numerous occasions I've knocked the GPS and the signal has never been affected and the watch strap still seems very sturdy despite constant use over the past year. On the down side I'm begining to find the extra unit on my arm a bind, when I see all the guys with the 301's now. If it's cold and I've got a couple of layers on, I need to go fiddling up my sleeve to ensure the GPS is switched on. The extra weight is no big deal, but I can see some people finding that a problem. The signal is the biggest let down though. It can take up to 5 mins to lock on in some cases and if I start too run I can get 1/4 mile before I pick up the signal. Atmosphere conditions seem to impede it also. ie no signal at all when it snowed. I use rechargeable batteries, with high AmpHr rating and these still require charging on average every 3rd or 4th run. (Avg run between 7 - 10 miles) |
