Lore Of Running by Timothy Noakes

'COMPREHENSIVE'
Strengths:
The book has everything a club runner, like me would need, and more. Good training plans and tips from experinced pro runners.
Weaknesses:
Very indepth and points some of which is not applicable to a lot of runners. Some of text is very science/biology based which is confusing if you know nothing about those subjects.
Overall:
Comprehensive book that will help training and performance. Got this book and already recorded new pb at half marathon and 5 mile - probably got nothing to do with the book but good review point.

Asics Gel Cumulus VII

'A GREAT SHOE!!!!!!!!'
Strengths:
A solid made shoe and also a soft cushioned shoe thanks to Asics' GEL , feels so comfortable on just about any surface (see weaknesses). Recommended by my local running shop 'The Dundee Runner' and without doubt the best £65 I've ever spent.
Weaknesses:
Used the shoe on a cross-country course/race and didn't provide as much grip as I expected but it was very few and muddy. No major weaknesses discovered yet.
Overall:
These are the first pair of proper running shoes I've bought, used to run in bog standard trainers from JJB type stores (I've not made that mistake again). They are great but I don't have much to compare them to but even experinced runners I've spoken to rate them highly. I run about 25 to 30 miles a week at present and so far so good these shoes can't be faulted.
