Mizuno Wave Inspire 5 (W)

'DO NOT CHANGE A THING!'
Strengths:
Fantastic combination of cushioning and support. Even do girly colours in bigger sizes!
Weaknesses:
Can't think of any weaknesses at all.
Overall:
I think when you find a shoe that suits your needs and does everything you want it to, you should stick with it. I like this as a long run shoe and will probably go with the Adrenaline's for the shorter runs!

Shock Absorber Impact Level 4 Bra Top

'DOES THE JOB, BUT THERE'S BETTER OUT THERE NOW....'
Strengths:
Great range of colours if you're into that sort of thing. They fit well and don't chafe much under 15 miles. I still think people who wear them as outer wear are a bit nuts though....
Weaknesses:
They do dig into your shoulders a bit and you end up trying to move them around to get comfortable.
Overall:
I have found something that suits me better now so I probably won't pay the extra tenner these cost, but I think its a good bra from a trustworthy name. They do eventually "give" though and it's ibvious when its time to chuck them out!

High5 Energy Gel

'SPOT THE DIFFERENCE?'
Strengths:
Dead easy to digest and requires no water to get them in!
Weaknesses:
I didn't notice any positive effects on performance in the race which was disappointing.
Overall:
If they work for you then fine. But I still believe you can't go wrong with power bar. And when there's hundreds of people discarding them at once they don't half stick to your trainers!

'NOT AS GLOOPY AS A POWER BAR GEL'
Strengths:
Easier to drink without water than some and not too bad tasting
Weaknesses:
I never know what to do with the wrapper when I'm mid race, but you can say that about all of them!
Overall:
Worth picking up if you want something simple that does the trick in a race and is quite easy on the stomach.

'HMMMMM.....'
Strengths:
Small enough to fit into your pocket and easy to tear into on the go.
Weaknesses:
I think they need quite a bit of water downing with them to swallow them effectively.
Overall:
I personally didn't feel any noticable difference after taking these. Power Bar Gels with caffeine are far superior.

Shock Absorber Flexiform Underwire Sports Bra
Posted: 21/09/09
Updated: 25/09/09
'ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE'
Strengths:
The underwire makes you feel a little more secure - until you take it off and see the damage its done.

[Update 25/09/09] I'd like to add that I seem to have a bruised rib too just where the wire has

Weaknesses:
It chafes to high heaven and left the underside of left boobie missing several layers of skin in spite of being properly lubed with Bodyglide AND vaseline

[Update 25/09/09] been sitting! This bra IS the correct size and I'm even less impressed now as I have a 20 miler to do with sore ribs. Brilliant!

Overall:
Stay well away if you're planning to do any significant mileage in this and you've actually GOT boobs. I'm throwing mine in the bin (and yes it does fit)!

'LIKE A LITTLE TURBO BOOST!'
Strengths:
A good pick me up - legs feels rejuvenated after taking one and they're not too difficult to carry or open on the go.
Weaknesses:
You need to swallow a LOT of water to get them down and they take a while to get used to. Blackcurrant is my fave because it has caffeine in it.
Overall:
I've tried most energy gels and this is the one that doesn't send me screaming for the nearest loo. £1.25 in your local supermarket. You can't go wrong....

'NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THIS PHF BUSINESS'
Strengths:
Great looking shoe, super stability, well made and no problems with width around the toe region
Weaknesses:
This heel fit thing seems to me to be a bit too snug and I have long thin blisters along my inner heels where they rub. The shoes have only been on a couple of outings though and may be bedding in...
Overall:
I'd probably go for the Mizuno Wave Inspire again if you held a gun to my head.
