'COULDN'T RUN WITHOUT IT NOW...DESPITE SOME SMALL FLAWS!'
Strengths: Very quick to pick up signal compared to 305. Accurate distance. Can also be used as a normal watch. Great looks.
Weaknesses: I don't like the fact that it can't be turned off! Pacing is way off if running under trees (didn't have this problem with 305). I get condensation in the screen from time to time (but I suspect its a one-off watch problem) Bezel can be quite fiddly.
Overall: I decided to treat myself when my 305 finally packed in. I was initially impressed with the speed at which the watch picks up a satellite signal (compared to the305 it is light-speed for the area I'm in). The bezel is very sensitive, even when sitting down and playing with it, it constantly will knock on to a screen I didn't intend it to go on to which is a bit annoying. The main disappointment for me is the pacing. I run the same route I always ran with my 305 (largely under trees)and found that, while the 305 was spot on with my c6:50 pacing, the 405 will constantly jump from 6:50 all the way up to 11:00 at times and I am running at a constant speed! But overall, a great improvement on the 305.
