Strengths: Good fit Responsive Excellent cushioning Very comfortable
Weaknesses: None that I can think of...
Overall: Was fitted with a set of Mizuno Wave Riders a number of years ago by Run and Become in Cardiff. Haven't looked back and have stuck with them since, just ordered my fourth pair. Lovely and comfortable, good cushioning and IMHO very responsive. The model is now up to #14 in the series but like most things I don't think they change a winning formula by much other than aethetics year on year, so see if you can get a deal on #12 or #13s online :D
'Comfortable and offer good grip on off road trails.'
Strengths: The Roclite 295 is light shoe, lighter that my road shoes [Mizuno Wave] by a noticeable margin. Good positive feel on off road trails and the rugged sole provides excellent grip in all but excessively muddy conditions, when most would struggle to be honest. Very comfortable.
Weaknesses: Soft rubber sole does wear fairly quickly, especially if you use them on tarmac, so stick to their intended purpose! I've pretty much worn out my first pair, but I've had them a year now and have covered a lot of (mainly) off road miles. Mesh upper means your feet will get wet if running through dew soaked grass or puddles.
Overall: Retiring my current pair after the Clarendon Marathon tomorrow, but will be replacing them with... another pair. Might go for the 318GTX for added waterproofing through winter but will get some more 295s for drier times!
