Garmin Forerunner 305
Posted: 29/08/11
'it's quite chunky but really cheap right now and does a gret job'
Strengths:
it does exactly what it says!

it always picks up a signal even where i live surrounded by quite tall buildings

battery life is good even if you are out for a long run/walk/hike

although big it sits comfortably and you will get used to it after a run or two
Weaknesses:
big - young children think that you are james bond and stop you in the street to try to get you to fire a laser out of your watch

as with all gps i guess, the accuracy goes off a bit when you are surrounded by buildings

the software that comes with it is crap, but you can use loads of other free resources - recommend "garmin connect" website where you can upload / analyse / share your runs
Overall:
i love it! if you have always wanted one but couldn't justify spending 200+ quid on the latest and greatest model, take advantage of the low price now while the later model is drawing the attention of bigger spenders. it does everything you will ever want and it does it very well.
