Inov-8 Mudroc 290
Posted: 13/08/07
Updated: 09/09/07
'I ONLY RUN IN MUD NOW.'
Strengths:
very light.
good grip.
no heal slip.
Weaknesses:
no cushionong for tarmac. But I live in the hills and have no need of such roads. HA HA HA (mad cackle)

[Update 09/09/07] After 2 months use the insides of both heal backs have worn through and holes have appeare. Ive taken them back to George Fihers in Keswick who are chasing up a replacement for me. watch this space.
Just had an email after 3 weeks without any feedback from George Fisher. Innov8 say the shoes are not faulty and I was sold without proper fitting advice. I am pretty let down by both Innov8 and mostly George Fisher in Keswick.

Overall:
good shoe for this wet summer. keeps my feet cool and provides good grip.

[Update 09/09/07] I will not be buying from George fisher or Innov8 again.

Suunto T3
Posted: 13/08/07
'RUBBISH'
Strengths:
Training effect (which is a vague calculation tool Suunto have dreamed up)
Weaknesses:
the bulky GPS pod gives very basic info to the wrist unit, the PC pod and the downloadability are as reliable as Public Transport. The wrist units screen scratches very easily. And the heart rate monitor loops split easily.
Overall:
I bought a Garmin 305 2 months after getting the T3 since I was getting so stressed with the T3 after running.
The T3 was a total waste of money.

'FAMILYMAN RUNNINGMAN'
Strengths:
This shows that family life can benifit from a dedication to running.
Weaknesses:
an update on further adventures from this family would be good.
Overall:
Really good read. more real thn the USA Ultra runner and much more informative than feet in the clouds.

'MOVE TO THE HILLS'
Strengths:
rare look at fell running
Weaknesses:
A gets a bit tide up with races rather than just getting out there.
Overall:
I read this just after moving to a fell area and have taken up the sport. It is what it says on the cover.

Ultramarathon Man by Dean Karnazes

'ULTRA BRILLIANT'
Strengths:
He likes a drink or two, is addicted to coffee and eats well and own a pair of running shoes.
Weaknesses:
He is a yank but no one is perfect.
Overall:
This guy must be what yankies call cool. I would call him an insparation to the human race. Not many Americans can hold that title these days.
