Strengths: Was bought these for Christmas. Have run three races in them. Two half marathons and a 10 miler. Have managed 2 PB,s in these shoes. So am well pleased. Lovely roomy toe box. I normally run in support shoes. these are neutral shoes and have found them fine. Plenty of cushioning.Quite stiff compared with my old Asics 1140,s are responsive. No signs of wear after 100 miles.
Weaknesses: Mates at my running club can run 3hr marathons in these. And get 600 miles out a pair. This is never going to happen to me!
Overall: Excellent shoe, they are expensive and was worried I would not get on with them. But they have a lovely wide fitting toe box and are comfy over long distance. Can cope with a bit of mild off road.
Strengths: Lots of cushioning Quite wide fitting for Asics Wearing well
Weaknesses: Not a fast shoe Not good off road
Overall: Was given these by a Mate who could not get on with them. As quite different from old 1130,s I normally wear new balance shoes which by comparison are stiffer and more supportive. The asics 1140s are nice and wide around the toe box, comfy and have excellent cushioning. Wearing well, quite breathable. Good long distance shoe with mild support. I would recommend them as currently available for £49 on web.
Strengths: very light, but comfortable. Feel fast, longer life than Mayfly.
Weaknesses: Shame about the colour
Overall: New version of the mayfly the Vaporfly is 170grams and good for 300km instead of the mayflys 100kms. Currently available at dorunning for £20 plus postage. They are comfortable and have a suprising amount of cushioning. Not much stablitity. Could do a 5km in these. Would be worried about my knees if i tried to go further! Will update this when i have had them longer than two weeks. Very bright red and yellow colours.
Strengths: Wide fitting, comfy durable protects your knees.
Weaknesses: Bit heavy
Overall: My first proper running shoes fitted by proper running shop.Have been excellent. Done around 450miles and still plenty of life left in them. Pretty versatile as good both on and off road. Now replaced by New Balance 767s which are a bit lighter and faster. Still an excellent shoe.
Strengths: currently available at sweatshop for £35 i liked them so much i went back and bought a second pair. Feel light and fast and well cushioned.
Weaknesses: none so far.
Overall: Normally run in New Balance 857s which are a motion control shoe. This is a stablilty shoe, was worried about my knees. Need not have been. I have run several PB,s in these, they feel much lighter and faster than my old 857,s. Have found New Balance shoes to be very long lasting! Excellent off road too. I can only echo the previous reviews on RW of this shoe. Brilliant buy particularly at £35 at sweatshop currently.
