Mizuno Wave Inspire 7
Posted: 22/04/11
'A huge let down compared to the Inspire 5 & 6'
Strengths:
None
Weaknesses:
This is not an evolution of the 5 & 6 it is a different shoe
Narrow fit and smaller toe box than previous versions
Either shorter laces or a differnet lacing pattern as there is very little lace left to tie when using all the eylets
Not comfortable over long distances
Overall:
Having raced and loved the Inspire 5 & 6, when I needed a new pair of running shoes the Inspire 7s were ordered. From day 1 they never felt comfortably, where the 5&6's fitted from day 1. I had always prefered the Mizuno over adidas and other shoes as they had ample room in the toe box and I never suffered from black toes and other discomfort. However these caused numbness in the ball of my foot over longer distances, caused some Quad discomfort over half marathon distances.
Due to this I went for another shoe fitting to check my gait and they had heard the same complaints fomr a number of people.

'Great watch easy to use'
Strengths:
Easy to use, great for uploading training plans. Easy to upload workouts to Garmin Connect to track progress.
Great range of features for tracking progress both on the run and using the uploads
Weaknesses:
The GPS start point can sometimes be a bit off on the upload to garmin connect although it had good accuracy before starting.
Having to use training centre for developing training workouts.
No real issues with the watch

Mizuno Wave Inspire 5 (M)

'Fabulous shoes - on my second pair and about to buy my third'
Strengths:
Great support and longevity
More room around the toes compared to others in the same size
Great feel on a variety or surfaces
Weaknesses:
none experienced
Overall:
These are fantastic shoes, I rotate them on a regular basis with one or two other pairs when training and running 1/2 marathons.
Have never experienced black toes since the switching to these from adidas as they have more room around the toes.

Have performed well over a variety of surfaces and over half marathon distance my feet have felt good at the end.

Have tried others in the Mizuno range and will definately stick with these.
