'EASY TO USE, NEED IR LINK IF YOUR PC HASN'T GOT ONE'
Strengths: Had my 610 for 3 years after having an older Polar model. The software is good though I tend to copy the results to Excel for comparisons, e.g. heart rate max./av. etc. Battery in the watch has been replaced twice by Polar, about £15 a time. Replaced the original 'hard' chest strap with one of the new flexible ones. If you use a Concept rower the watch & software easily link into it.
Weaknesses: Strap split a couple of months ago, as I was having the battery replaced anyway I had a complete rebuild of all the outers for £50. The software is not particulary user friendly if you want to do anything other then basically looking at how your heart performed throughout a run.
Overall: Heart rate taken every 5 seconds, good software, good fit of chest strap, good battery life. Even with the benefit of GPS I'd be unwilling to swap for one of the new Garmin's.
Strengths: Superb cushioning and personally I find them an excellent fit.
Weaknesses: Price! I never buy the current year but wait and end up paying about £70 for the previous model.
Overall: Have been to a couple of specialist shops to have my feet examined, gait looked at etc. Have also had the 'adiscan' done. All of the shoes recommended never fitted or felt as good as the Kayano's.
