Weaknesses: The shoe felt really comfy in the shop. After about 50 miles of use though, I had severe discomfort to the area just below my ankle bone on the medial side of my right foot. Part of the upper of the shoe was "digging in" and rubbing. This eventually led to a ganglion cyst. I cut the offending piece of upper out of the shoe, but possibly compromised some of the stability in doing so. Eventually binned them after just 190 miles.
Overall: Not very impressed, but I guess it was just that my feet weren't suited to them. Shame it took 50 miles to find out though.
Strengths: Very comfortable and supportive. Need little breaking in, comfortable straight out of the box. Have tried all sorts of shoes and all gave me problems...until I had this shoe
Weaknesses: The only downside is the cushioning seems a little firm in the rear foot. This can be easily solved with Noène or equivalent though.
Also, I've never made a pair last more than 400 miles, but guess that's my style of running!
Overall: This review is of Mizuno Wave Nirvana. I haven't tried Wave Nirvana 2 yet.
Mizuno Wave Nirvana is a shoe supporive enough for moderate overpronation. I've ran up to 44 miles per week in them with no problems. Have tried all sorts of shoes and all gave me problems...until I tried this shoe. I'm now on my 3rd pair. (4th pair still fresh in the box!) I am hoping Wave Nirvana 2 is just as good - or even better if the rearfoot cushioning is a little softer.
