Had one problem with it but sent it back to Garmin and it was sorted straight away. The only issue was that on hot/sweaty days the bezel would activate itself and make lots of beeping noises and keep changing screen. Recently I have discovered how to lock the bezel (press the two side buttons simultaneously) and now that problem is solved I am even happier. |

 | | | Posted: 08/07/11 | | 'Not what I was expecting' | | Strengths: High level of cushioning | | Weaknesses: Feel very bulky and not really like it could ever substitute a race shoe like the Asics DS racer 8. | | Overall: After 6 months of racing AND training in the Ascis DS-racer-8 shoe for both 10k and half-marathon distances I was looking for something for higher mileage as I get back in to marathon training over the next six months (aiming for sub-3 hr, current PB 3:11). The reviews of this product are fantastic but I have been disappointed with this shoe. Although it's reasonably light for a high mileage shoe, it feels like a brick compared to the lightweight DS racer 8. It also feels very bulky in the heel. There is a lot of cushioning and so it may be quite comfortable but after about 100 miles in this shoe i still feel as though i am wearing flippers/wellies/boats compared to a racing shoe. I will use these for training, but I couldn't ever imagine running a competitive race in these having got used to such a light a nimble trainer over the previous six months. If you are used to lightweight racing shoes then i would certainly not recommend them, if on the other hand you have a very heavy shoe like the asics gel kayano then you may well be impressed.
I wish i had just bought another pair of DS Racer-8.
