'FULLY FEATURED BUT A LITTLE INFLEXIBLE'
Strengths:
The flexible chest strap is a joy to wear compared with standard plastic ones, and less of a cold shock to put on first thing in the morning! The fitness test is a great way of seeing your progress. The automatic programmes get you started on working towards your goal, whether it be losing weight, getting fitter or improving performance, really quickly.
Weaknesses:
It's a bit of a struggle to navigate the menus, especially while exercising. It's also somewhat of a bind to change the exercises, either editing the prescribed session or changing, for instance from a short to long session in your schedule. I wish there was some kind of reminder alarm to put it on before I leave the house - I feel like I've "wasted" a session if I haven't recorded it!
Overall:
Harry the HRM (we all name our gadgets on the forum!) is my constant training companion, coach, medal presenter and nag. Using it regularly has really improved my training, especially slowing right down for my LSRs so I can carry on much longer, and knowing I'm not overdoing it on speedwork, whatever my legs and lungs try to tell me to the contrary! It even displays a little trophy on the screen when you achieve your goals for the week, which makes me embarassingly smug.

'DISAPPOINTING FIT'
Strengths:
Good comfort and stability. Light and cushioned.
Weaknesses:
Come low up the heel and no amount of re-lacing seems to make them fit cosily. I'm a bit worried these have contributed to a recurring foot injury.
Overall:
If you're tempted to try the 1050s after other NB shoes, try before you buy as they don't quite feel the same.
