Feet in the Clouds: A Tale of Fell-Running and Obsession by Richard Askwith
Posted: 19/02/08
'I REALLY TRIED TO LIKE IT '
Strengths:
I heard such good accounts of this, it is a lovely tale and the descriptions are excellent
Weaknesses:
Its very hard work and I lost the will several time
Overall:
For a descriptive of the countryside its lovely, the story unravels and unravels and doesnt really go far - I really tried to like it but so far it remains unfinished, perhaps I shall go back to it when I have grown up (in my rocker)

'STRANGELY LIKEABLE ...!!'
Strengths:
easy to carry, minimal waste to carry
Weaknesses:
a little bit sickly after a while
Overall:
I think I have aquired the taste, the vanilla ones seem to be a favourite for me, good consistency and certainly has seen my stamina improve on the long run, e asy to carry in a pocket or hands and you dont have to carry a mass of rubbish afterwards! can get a little expensive as training hours build up

'A VERY SERVICEABLE SHOE'
Strengths:
Nice and roomy at the front and snug at the back.
Weaknesses:
Tight heel tabs at the back, they seem to sit higher than others?
Overall:
lightweight shoes, ample cushioning with a good and roomy toe box, I tend to wear the mens (size 9) as the ladies model dont have quite the same fit for me, the heel tabs tend to pinch a bit but overall a competitively priced shoe.

Garmin Forerunner 201

'A LITTLE LARGER THAN A NUTSHELL BUT A GOOD COMPANION!'
Strengths:
The data and numbers are easy to read whilst on the move, easily compatible for both running and biking. The training partner is very useful for those of us who train alone and need the extra motivation, the alerts keep your mind on the job and it is so nice to come back and download the data onto the pc whilst refuelling and planning the next outing! Mine also sits very nicely on the handlebars of the bike and all the data is there to see whilst moving safely rather than trying to see it on my wrist and therefore taking my eeyes off the road.
Weaknesses:
I cant think of any - other than the constant need to keep up with the Jones' and upgrade !
Overall:
You get out of this what you put in to it and vice versa, it appears a little large at first but once you are used to it you hardly notice it is there. Easy to use although some of the buttons I have never explored! The garmin software is easy to install and very user friendly and the data is also compatible with other mapping websites, the danger is you will spend more time indoros playing with the data rather than outdoors collecting it! Buy one and have fun !
