I've retired. Earn nowt. Work harder than I did when I was paid. No training needed.

I've come to a point in my life where I've realised that if I haven't got there yet, it's not going to happen.

Two of the things I wanted to do most, conversion or renovation the other, own a wood. Well I've almost got both. If I can fit in some arty crafty stuff then I'm sorted.

Just give me a blank canvas.

Getting poopd on once is bad luck, getting pooped on twice is careless.

I have been shopping for weedkiller. Oh the fun I have.

Think I must be too young for DM, that orI just never watch TV.

I have a very unmundane injury. Got stabbed or stung or bitten on my calf. My calf is now very painful and I'm struggling to walk. I crushed aspirin the remedy of choice here? Can't remember what its good for. Insect bites?

Favourite time of day to run?

I prefer to run in the evening. I'm not a morning person either. At the moment I'm having to catch a bus to work which leaves me a 3 mile walk from the bus stop. Now I can run again I'm running each way. As I get stronger I'll throw in a lunch time run as well. Maybe do some hill reps as there's an up down right where I am that is 1k long. Good interval training.

What is your race entry pattern like?

I'm ad hoc. I pick races that look like they will be fun. I have trained for some races and in those I do very well, otherwise it's just a case of running because it's going to be a fun run.

I have to travel a little further than 4 miles to find a 10k. I'd like to get my 10k pb sub 42 mins.

Beetroot Juice

I think it is disgusting. I like beetroot but the juice is vile. Sorry, I would love to try it out and see if it makes a difference.  I know I'm not being very helpful but that is the limit of my experimentation.

Aldi are on my black list, not that I have ever shopped there or am ever likely to.

They cut down an ancient tree 250 yrs old despite opposition from the local residents, the local council, conservation groups and without doing the necessary searches that were required of them. Nasty profiteering company.

Marshalled at the local 10k and brought a nice bit of bling home for my efforts. Then watched some hockey.

I'd just like to say how thoroughly nice and pleasant the two winning lads are.

Daily disappointments

Wanted to go swimming today but it was actually quite windy down on the sea front. Large waves strong wind and strong current. Not so good when you are nursing an injured shoulder, so I didn't swim.

Evening. Watched the cycle race, took all of 20 seconds. Didn't swim as the sea was too rough and I really don't want to risk my shoulder. I'd be in tears if I did anything now.

I'm lonely. I made myself cry today. Looking at new build flats and thinking back to when D and I bought our first place together.

Sometimes I wish I could just eat cake. (I don't really like cake but it looks nice).

Slugs have been massive this year. They are planning on taking over the world. I'm glad that they are not carnivorous.

I am running to work now, well catching the bus and running the 3 miles that the bus doesn't go.

Cake, I feel like I'm working my butt off and making progress, then when I look at what I've done, t doesn't quite equate with my memory of things, What's the opposite of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut? Well that's where I'm at.
