Anyone see this madness

Well the worse part about that article was the part blaming the police for not realising it was a medical emergency...geez what is the bloody country coming to?  Haven't the dibble enough to contend with in their daily jobs? What a stupid thing to say.

Ban mp3's/ ipods at mass events

You're probably right Rarebit but then that is their choice and if they can afford to lose runners due to the ban then there is no harm done for them.

If a race bans MP3's then it isn't getting my money.  There are plenty of other races to choose from that aren't so unreasonable that I can happily run round listening to my tunes

Tee hee neil I thought that was quite funny actually, silly funny!  So bungee does your husband, whispering sweet nothings in your ear or even better telling you to "get them f*cking legs moving" over the phone give you a competitive edge?  I doubt it

I'm up for this.  Did NY marathon a week last Sunday so fancy a short burst for the legs. Been running well since the marathon so a flat course should give me a good change of a fast time.  I don't use a cheque book and can't enter on line so will take a chance and turn up

Wilkie your comments don't surprise me as several people have said it to me.  In fact running round NY last week in the closing miles I heard a running chap say "say yes, yes, yes 3 f*cking 'short' miles, so you keep f*cking saying!" He was a bit peed off by the crowd me thinks!
