Ah, the joys of the church of barefoot running.......I won't enter that debate......today.

Nice to see the friendly podiatrist has come to the rescue again (you will have obviously guessed that I am also a podiatrist). Hopefully the temporary insoles they've made you will be of benefit. Best of luck.

PS - What sort of healthcare professional are you?

Hi Nori, do you only get the symptoms when you run (what Nike trainers are you using?) or do you get it on a daily basis?

Is this achilles tendinitis?

I'm sure Six Physio would agree - don't try and self diagnose with Google searches.

Go and see a professional like myself (a podiatrist) or a physio (like Six Physio).

PS Six Physio - you are indeed correct, but as I'm sure you would agree, trying to make any concrete diagnosis across the internet with patients limited knowledge of anatomy is fraught with problems.

Why do you not want to see a podiatrist?

Arch pain, numb toes due to new shoes...

As PSC said. But also, did you ever have any problems (excluding the occaisional achilles tendonitis) with your original Kinsei's.  If the answer is no and you've always had them before, stick with them.

If you want a proper gait analysis, go and see a professional, not a salesman.

You also have plantaris that inserts into the medial side of the calcaneum.........

Conciously correcting running form

Sean, you're not being flamed at all, I am purely asking a very reasonable question myself.  You asked for a professional response, well, I'm the professional with many years experience treating athletes at all levels. So I'll rephrase my question.

If there is such a thing as perfect gait, why is every athlete on the planet not doing it?

(FB, I'd like to hear your take on this).

Sean, what is perfect gait?
