Hi RFJ - I remember you from last year.  What ached more for you at the end of the race though?  Your legs or your throat from calling everyone's name (on every lap) as you ran past in the opposite direction?

Great encouragement I must say

I've used the coke and onions. Like you say sounds like it shouldn't work but does

We've had "Coca-Cola Chicken" previously.  I agree Dave it sounds wrong but it works.

Wokingham Half Marathon

This year it's on the 8th Feb Millsy.  I do this event most years, it's a lovely route in the countryside.

I have a place rolled over from last year as last year's event was flooded and cancelled.

wenterrapin - 18 miles then a 12 - no wonder you're feeling it.  Great effort.

2wheels - I'm the same when I run with my son (22)  he tends to pace me to a faster run.  I'm going back to a club I was in previously before work took me everywhere.  I agree there's a benefit and it should help your overall speed.

Rob - If the club evening involves a track session, maybe you could do your intervals there?
