Well I think I've got my nutrition sorted out for the day, something else is starting to bother me. What to wear on the bike leg did 4.5 hr bike Sunday and starting to feel it around the saddle area anyone got any good reviews for tri shorts and top or cycle bib and have a clean
change. I'm expecting to be on the bike for 6 - 7 hrs.

I'm another who's got a sore shoulder, hope you get sorted soon JC.

Thanks in advance.

RTN - I'm a newbie at biking and train on undulating routes (about 55 feet incline every mile) average between 15 - 16 mph. On a recent outing (37.5 ft per mile incline) I averaged 16.8 mph.

What I lose on the up hills I don't get back on the downhills.

Would of asked for the later swimming wave probably wave 8 would suit me, at my age I'm guessing I will be near the back so not going to bother.

Sorry to hear Ali.

I've decided against doing anymore races/sportives apart from the cotswolds 113. Going to try and tough it out by myself. Not following any plans as such just gradually building up distances in each discipline but most of all to enjoy it.

Can't believe I spelt allowed like that.

Thunder, snow, rain and really windy(not me) here, ended up with tonight's session being Hill intervals on the turbo. With local swimming pool closed due to boiler issues about the third time in as many months becoming a bit frustrating.

However I've been thinking/ trying out different approaches for fuelling on the bike. Last Weekends ride I mixed some gels in with water and took little but often swigs this seemed to be OK.

So my question is how far apart are the feed stations and what do they hold. I'm thinking of mixing gels in one drinks container and taking on energy drink from the other feed stations with a few solids and aim for 60 carbs per hour.

Having those butterfly moments but also quite excited at the same time. Swimming improving enough to beat the cut off time (only pool swam as yet though) bike should be good enough based on quattro sportive 5hrs 20 with stops for 86 miles and done several marathons in the past last one snowdon all between 3.5 and 4 hrs. Putting it altogether in one day maybe another thing though.
