Glasgow Half

Posted: 30/03/2015 at 21:10

Shame you've signed up for this mass populated money grabbing run when there's an excellent half marathon in kirkintilloch on the same day organised brilliantly and very friendly. Good luck with the training though over the next few months.

Saint- if you do succumb to buying a Garmin and like any at startfitness, 'save10' discount code will knock another 10% off it. Can be used for anything.

Any obsessive types might feel the urge to order by predicted time, or name.
I have a half coming up this weekend so should really predict after that but if I was to run it tomorrow I'd run at 3.15 pace. Should be faster than my last in 2011.
Good luck with the final long runs, tune up races and tapers. Great to hear info about the drinks etc. I need to practice with the pouches if I can get some.

Why would you listen to a bunch of strangers if you're not going to listen to the medical advice you've been given? How do we know if it's going to sort the problem? Best try it I say but you don't have to take that advice either. Good luck.

Races that allow dogs

Hopefully none, shouldn't be encouraged. Go to cani-cross they exist for that reason.

Please leave the general races for humans, don't want to be tripping over some mutts leash.

Nice 7 mile slow on Tuesday after weekend's half and then went out last night for a gentle 3 miles and had to stop 3 times in the first 2 miles and walk home the last mile as right hamstring is really sore. Iced and foamed rolled when I got home and ibrufen gel rubbed into it but still really sore today even just walking. Enforced rest for me for a while to see if it eases.

Changing my predicted finishing time

Emma- that was 2013. Cougie opposite of you, I was surprised no-one asked to see my number as I was also told they check it rigorous.
