Tell me it gets easier!

Posted: Today at 07:43

Hi katt, I'm training for the Manchester marathon in April. Will be my 2nd marathon, did London in 2013. Loved it and soaked it all up but Manchester will be a bit more serious and hoping for a decent time.

Xmas is looming

I would like one of those Gore waterproof running jackets, the proper Gore one by Gore. No chance of getting it as too expensive to get from anyone as a present but like booktrunk chance of overtime in December so if I get enough overtime who knows.....

Oh what I will get is socks, hopefully running socks!!

Hi katt, yes I'm doing marcothon also, well done on committing to it. I'm looking to use it to increase my weekly mileage, currently do around 30 miles a week and this will help me get to around 45-50 miles which is where I want to be. Roll on Monday and hopefully we see it through. My club are continuing it through January also but allowed one rest day a week in January so if I get by December I'll continue on to that.

Kattc- for your next challenge have you heard of marcothon? ( there's a FB page) but basically from the 1st of December you have to run everyday in December including Christmas day for either 25mins or 3 miles, whatever comes first? Give it a try?

Possibly, never thought of that. Unless he has different details, same name but uses a different address for the charity place? Maybe parents address?

Take the charity place as planned and raise loads of money and defer your own place until 2016 and run for them again in 2016 under your own place and then they'll get a double helping from you

If your races tend to be local to you try running the course in a training run then you'll know what to expect and maybe not have to hold so much back.

Cheers Alan, hamstring feeling fine, week's rest seems to have been a wise move. Saying that don't think I was going fast enough to give it any real test!!

Well done on your mileage, 40-45 miles per week is where I want to be by Christmas, been consistently doing around 30 miles per week prior to hamstring niggle and only one week of rest when I've not did it. By doing marcothon in December on top of club runs and Sunday long run think that will be achievable.

Coop- well done on the duathlon, appeals to me that because I hate swimming!!
