Things you want to say but can't

Dear general manager, when you bought plonker back from our other site to be our operations manager I knew I was stuffed as I'm the only one still working here who witnessed his punch up with another employer when a whiskey fuelled poker match got nasty when he was supposed to be in charge of the factory. Since then he' s used "restructuring" to demote me twice.
Now you want me to do some "business critical" project work. Uuuuum I actually think the proposed takeover by another company is good news so you can stick your project work where the sun don't shine.

Wearing my king of Wessex hat (or crown), please leave the area flooded, I may need a stronghold if the Danes invade again.

Is running with a stiffy?

Not if you're in the Team GB 4 x 100 relay squad.

Could cause confusion at the baton handover.

I carried 6 carrier bags of shopping home on the bus before remembering I had left the car I had bought the day before in the supermarket car park.

Red Squirrel

Laverstoke Park is 80 metres from my house & I will be running round it this evening. The Buffalo are great especially if you don't notice the electric fence is down when you run by, a dozen young buffalo steers chasing you down a hill is excellent speed work.

The downside is that the estates farm shop is hideously expensive.

Have you ever been last in an event?

When I first started (39 years ago) I was quite often the tail end Charlie in Hampshire XC league races as a boy / youth.

I also finished 2nd last of 531 finishers in the Southern XC at Parliament Hill when I was 15 or 16.

But anyone can improve.....10K PB of 35:36 & 10 miles in 59:17.......Sadly the years are now catching up with me and I'm drifting back towards the back of the field.

Sadly departed races

The National Cross Country Championship when it was run over the traditional 9 miles.....Happily the Southern Counties is still a true event.

Also miss the Salisbury Plain 15+

The Basingstoke Klix 10k where I set my PB

The 3 lap Reading 10 miles where I was almost lapped by Bernie Ford.

& finally RIP the London Marathon....... when the best of the Brits could mix it with the rest of the world, now a Charity fund raiser.

The top 7 posts under General Running have all been started by RW.

Is it time to let some slip down the list or are they looking at a front page take over.
