Oh dear!  I live in Sheffield, and have done the Sheffield half a few times, so thought the Leeds half would make a nice change, but I'm not sure now!  Is it really that bad?

Go for it Corinne - 11 weeks will be grand just by increasing little amounts each week.  Even if you break you weekly milage up across the week to make each run more managable.  Also, if you get as far as about 8k by the week before the race the adreneline and excitement of the race will carry you over the distance. Very best of luck

Knee Question

Posted: 07/07/2010 at 21:37
Hi, in last 4 weeks have started running again after birth of second child (3 months ago) and all of a sudden having sore knees as sooon as I leave the house!  Never had this problem before (not even after first child) and not sure what to do about it.  It's not very bad, just enough to slow me down and change my gait.  Knee supports a good idea or not?

Really looking forward to this one this year, and excited to see the new course.  And the show is always a great place to get your breath back!

Really wanted to go for the 10, but was feeling really rough so quit after 5 - then the marshall at the decision point said "good decision"! so I must have looked as rough as I felt! - next year I will not be beaten!

Run in the Park 10K, Sheffield

Is it poor form to enter a race like this without raising money for the charity?  I won't have chance to do fund-raising but it looks like a great race to run.  May feel a bit guilty tho...

When it says hilly, how hilly are we talking? A wee bit tough, or do I need to bring my oxygen tank?
