Awesome running everyone
I'm a lot better today and will write a "woe is me" blog this week and post the link Seriously, I have absolutely no regrets. I was quite poorly and didn't for one second regret pulling out. I did the right thing or I'd have been one of the people ending up on an IV drip in hospital.
I have huge respect for you all completing the challenge (one day or two). It was very hot.
Booktrunk, I wish I'd mentioned on here how cold it can feel on a night after running in the sun (it made a lot of people DNF at the 100 mile race I did) as I reckon a good warm top would have saved your race! I couldn't have got as far feeling as cold as you did... Amazing determination!

I'm at home
Felt sick from getting up with bad stomach cramps and just put it down to nerves but I was feeling so ill by 19 miles that I couldn't even drink water. At 23 miles I retired and have slept more or less since then. My throat has been sore for a couple of days but it was terrible today so it looks like I picked up a bug or something.
It was lovely meeting you all/seeing you again last night and I'm looking forward to reading all about your adventures. Good to see you too Booktrunk, you didn't look as shit as you said you felt when I saw you as I was waiting for my lift home.

I'm still not fully packed... For an organised person I'm totally unorganised.
Just ask for a table under the name of Claire Abbey. Restaurant is round the corner from both Ibis and Hallmark. Less than 5 min walk. They didn't need pre orders.

Really looking forward to seeing you all. I'm def not in the best shape for a 69 mile race, but I'm just gonna plod along and get myself to the end in one piece (hopefully)

They have just said bottoms are at your own discretion. Someone posted it on Facebook after getting confirmation from Rat Race

My run up to this (no pun intended) has been crap... I've had a major diet change in the last 3 weeks and feel rubbish.... I'm still doing the race though

Agree with Ben... your brain is a very clever thing and knows what you're about to try and do so it makes everything hurt ... that's how I see taper pains, anyway!

I'm staying at the Hallmark. Just around corner from the Ibis (which I think is where a lot of people are staying)

Just a very quick check, is there any more for the meal at Casa Romano at 7.45 on the Friday? We are up to 11 so far.
