In short; Garmin give preferential treatment to idiots?

*not bitter at all*

I suggest you buy a lottery ticket this week.

So Ruffles you're a triathlete in Bristol, does that mean you're a BAD person?

Nah it was definitely called Runhub, but it appears to of been hidden again now.

Big bad Ben did promise a while ago that they were working on a new website toy. He said it was going to have "lasers and everything" but when I had a snoop around I didn't spot any

TBH one of my 1st thoughts was how long would it take before it would break, 2nd thought I'm not sure if I trust RW as a place to save my training data. Looked nice and shiny though!

According to Garmin ( the 220 comes with the premium heart rate monitor (usual one) rather than the HRM-RUN (fancy doodah version).

The only running dynamics the 220 can measure comes from the internal accelerometer or a footpod thingy

Opps good point, but as you found out it's not difficult to find.

edit:xpost okay maybe not then, I'll have another look....

  • Success: Promo code "MTALK" was applied.

Well that's what I get with either the 620 or the 220 in my basket, and click and collect..... but as I said I didn't complete the order. Lets see if anyone has any success.

don't suppose anyone has ny codes to save any pennies 360 eeeek

Sadly the sweatshop codes tend to exclude GPS watches so it will be very unlikely to find one I'm afraid

Hmmm, although the Marathon Talk discount code is suppose to exclude timepieces when I entered the code (I didn't complete the order) it seemed to accept it and took 10% off. Might be worth trying.

Oh and don't forget you will definitely get a place in the London Marathon, all you have to do is run a pathetic sub-75 minute HM and you've got a championship place.

Aha, so you started Ealing half 10 seconds after the gun, almost certainly ran a 4 minute mile for the 1st mile. You controlled yourself so you did not overtake the front runner, however the winnner averaged about 4:56 minute miles. And there was I thinking elite runners were good at pacing themselves.

Garmin 620/220 Adverts sexist?

Talking of DC Rainmaker, I assume people have seen his pre-release review which answers most questions about the FR620/220.

No the 220 doesn't record all the extra bobbins from the new chest strap.

No there isn't a girly pink version, with different sized straps.

If you have a good look at the photos it looks like it should be a decent fit for most sized wrists. Unlike most previously released garmins they have a more normal watch shape. They don't have the ridge curved straps (like the 405/410/610 etc) at the face and instead have a pivot point to the strap. So dispite having a larger watch-face than the pink FR10 it looks like it should fit better.
