Seeing as how the last post on here was over 6 months ago I think we should formally declare this forum closed. Bye bye anybody who is still checking here occasionally!

I doubt if anybody will read this, but can I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

There isn't a message on here for 3 months and then this stupid prat comes in spamming. I checked out his profile and it looks like he has posted the same message in a dozen different forums. I have a good mind to follow his link and vote for somebody else!

Well, yet again the folk who "update" a website have cocked it up grand style making this forum virtually unusable. I had the same problem with the two Yahoo Groups I run. Yahoo decided to "improve" the layout and now none of our members can find us. Even the TRAC Forum has not had a single post in about a month. I guess if you don't like Facebook nowadays you are definitely a "non-person", online you might as well not be here socially as there seems to be no venue now to interact with other people except through good old Facebook!

Yee hah, RW have allowed me back here. Apparently this is now a "thread" rather than a "bookmark". Such is progress. How is everybody doing? Is it just Sharon and Donna watching this now?

Should we just wind this up now do you think?

Welcome Mace and glad you have found us. We have been in here for a couple of years and chew the fat about races in the area.

Cripes, either that is a short course or it is phenomenally fast. The course record for Whitstable is about 2 mins slower than that. When I ran Palm Bay it was .07k long which took about 30 secs at 6m km pace, so if it was a bit short that could give a really fast time.

I did the 2nd one, ran it as a 30 minute pacer. Unfortunately I think somebody has been a bit too adventurous setting up Palm Bay and Pegwell Bay only a couple of weeks apart. The run I did at Palm Bay they had about 70 runners but the next week when Pegwell Bay was on it got over 80 but Palm Bay dropped back to 35 which is pretty dispiriting for the Director.

They should have given Palm Bay 3-6 months to bed down before starting Pegwell Bay, they are physically too close to each other. Whitstable has felt virtually no falling off at all now the others are there, we get about 140 every week now.

Cinders, don't worry about speed, a great many folk do it in about 30-40 mins, so as Sharon said, you would be fine. I enjoy the Park Runs because it is my only chance to run at "speed".
