Lakesman 2017

Castlerigg Hall has been mentioned for camping. It is a lovely site however you can't book in advance and there are no groups accepted. If you all turn up and start setting up close together it may set a few tongues wagging. It is first come, first served so if you get there late on the Saturday there may be a problem with getting in.

Sorry not sure of other sites in the area, just I have stayed here with the family.

I would be tempted by the swim but the short loops put me off , how many times would you have to go round to get to 12 miles?!

I'm guessing at around the 60 loop mark. It is approx 5 loops per mile.

For a 10k swim why not try this one up North. Swim on the Saturday and do a half iron distance on the Sunday

I haven't done an ironman or big (Outlaw) event like that. The swim will be no where near crowded like I've seen on the telly. I think there were about 50 swimming when I did the single which included deca, quin, single and half enduroman enteries. Don't think it will be like that next year as the double starts on the Friday.

If you are pedalling 300 miles at around 18mph you shouldn't have any problems with the biking side.

The run is just keep going and take support of everyone every lap to keep you going.

Good luck Doner with the 200 I'm sure Seren will be fine with just the half!!!

Things didn't go to plan this year for the double so made the decision to to not enter about 2 months ago. A few family and work issues so something had to give. Next year though

Is anyone else doing any of the events??

Looking forward to watching the live tracker next weekend.

Bib Shorts

I spent out on some Assos bibs. Expensive but worth it in my book. Did buy some cheaper ( but still expensive ) ones but won't do it again.

Can't get on with the tilting the saddle forward either but took a few years working out what saddle works for me. Fizik Arione on every bike now. Thing is shorts and saddles are personal to everyone you may just have to try and see I'm afraid.
