Bournemouth Marathon 2013

Posted: 11/01/2013 at 11:39

I was looking at this one as well, but may change my mind having heard your comments.  Other options I was looking at are Loch Ness, Abingdon or New Forest.  Can't afford to pay a fortune to travel to event so that may remove Loch Ness from the list.  What's the New Forest like?  I have heard that the lap after the half marathoners leave is more multi terrain?

Dislocated knee!!

Posted: 11/06/2012 at 11:22

I dislocated my knee doing judo many years ago when i was about 15 years old.  I seem to remember through the blur of "why is my knee cap round there" and "owww that hurts", a physio who just happened to be watching grabbed my kneecap and re-positioned it correctly.  I was x-rayed and strapped with elastic/crepe bandages which i was meant to keep on for 10 weeks and TOTAL REST.  Being the active type, and living close to a beach and it being summer, I used to limp or beg a lift to the beach 'to watch the sea', but in reality I removed the bandages and went swimming gently in the sea from about 3 weeks afterwards.  I then strapped up my knee again and went home.... my mum guessed what I had been doing as my suntan extended the full length of my leg, instead of having a white patch in the middle.  However, I did recover, I did continue with judo/ karate and took up running later in life and have had no problems.  There is a future for you!

Bewl 15

Has anyone done this with a Garmin and can confirm how close to 15 miles it actually is?  I've only trained up to a half marathon distance recently and concerned about those final few miles up to and beyond 15.

Folksworth 15

anyone seen the results yet?  Had a look on the Folksworth 15 website which says results are now on line, but couldn't find them.

Great marshalling, lovely limos from car park to Race HQ and back, quiet changing room for after race.  I'm sure they cranked up that hill at mile 14 between the first and second lap, and that wind.... did you see those cyclists being pushed up the hill by the wind without pedalling??

Has anyone managed to actually print out a set of results from the Garden City 10 held on 5th September 2010?  It doesn't seem to be printing - is this something new and we're meant to PAY for results downloaded?  Or is my printer just not set right?  Anyone help me?

Is there a half marathon with the full?  I'm looking for a January half.

Sigma PC15 Heart Rate Monitor

I've won one of the above HRM and the wrist watch part is about twice as wide as my skinny little wrist, I also already have a HRM that I'm happy with.

Anyone want this Sigma PC15 - still in box with instructions?  Trade for £10 plus postage?
