Danni.. 8 and 10 miles is way too far...!!! Just a couple of miles will be perfectly adequate to let your muscles get used to them.... build up slowly... I know I put them on and went out and did 45 miles first time, but that doesn't mean it's supposed to be done like that!
Hoka's are superb shoes, you know that. Give them time... they will be perfect for Comrades.
So.. just a few miles maximum....
You can't expect there to be no noticeable difference..
