That's a great spreadsheet - may take me a few weeks to get my head round it, but it's saved anyway! Thanks

Evening runners...

I was just wondering if such a thing existed - a spreadsheet which allows you to enter how many weeks until your marathon and how many miles you should run in order to reach your target time??

Lars, I was in the same boat last year.  Have patience - it's a total faff on getting in but eventually, I got an email from English Athletics verifying my EA membership and then I uploaded the email to the application and the 33% quickly became 100.  Good luck

Just wondering if anyone has done this one in the past?  Is it recommended?

Calf injury- diagnosis required

Posted: 05/02/2014 at 18:43
Hello, I'm posting on behalf of a friend who is baffled as to exactly what injury he has. The area affected is the outside of his knee/lower leg. He said: "Three weeks ago I,for a change ran on a treadmill. I normally pound the pavements without any difficulty. The next day, having been on the treadmill, the outside of my knee was sore. No bumps or bruises, just a dull pain. Cue two weeks of rest. However there is no change: I have a aching pain on the outside of my left knee which turns into a shooting pain down through my calf/lower leg when I put pressure on to run. Any idea what injury this is?" Any help or advice welcome

Stockholm - I was worried that I had to get the medical cert, but it's really just one or the other.  If I was you I'd get the letter from EA - they'll be fine with that (they were with me anyway) and it'll save you a few £

iPhone apps for marathon training

Posted: 27/01/2014 at 21:00

Just wondering what app yous all use?  If any?  I can do it the manual way but I fancy something novel just to make my training interesting.  I've got eight weeks left and I'd love to do it properly for once!

Ideally, I'd like an app where you can just enter the race date manually as opposed to giving you set standard 16 week training programmes like the runkeeper one does.  Or one that generates a plan for you for the time you actually have left until race day.  Any suggestions would be most welcome

I've been doing 30 odd a week recently, had a half marathon on Sunday, now I'm up to a decent level, it's just that I've only got 8 weeks til the marathon (23rd March) which is why I'm just looking for a weekly breakdown of miles for the weeks that are left.

Anyone got any links to any marathon training plans? I've found/got countless ones with training schedules on them, but I'm looking for one with purely number of miles to aim to clock up over an eight week period if anyone can help
