Nick - I also have tried that moortop route and I reckon it loses me about 5 mins - for those better at runnable stuff (i.e. almost everybody) it'd probably only be 2-3mins slower and you save putting the early damage into your legs from the steep down/up - it would confuse the CP marshals though!

my run went really well on Sunday - perfect weather, and I covered about 26M in under 6 hours, so about 13min-miling which bodes very well for my assault on a sub-14:30

I'll be back off hols tomorrow (Saturday) and on Sunday out-n-backing a stretch of BS from Blinder House (where the route crosses the A515 nr Chelmorton) probably get as far as Brand Top one way, and past Miller's Dale as far as Wheston t'other - looking at 7-8hrs out

The only Floyd album I still listen to is Wish You Were Here, although I do have Relics and listen to a lot of their very early stuff on youtube

Sabs' Paranoid album has become my fave of theirs over the years, but if you'd asked me 30 years ago I'd've said it was one of their weaker ones

euph - Wow! sounds epic - I've never done a multi-day of any description - bit tricky wrt family, but would love to give it a go one day - look forward to hearing your reports...

I have been resting on my laurels/unfocused since 10 Peaks, but have just entered Bullock Smithy as a spur to get my training going again

conversely, what about albums you're shocked to realise how dated/bad they are?

I nominate Pink Floyd's "The Wall" - listened to it recently... dismal... Comfortably Numb is good enough to stand on it's own merits, but other than that... deary deary dear...

hi euph (waves)

no experience myself, but have heard you can achieve a "one off" vacuum packing effect by just cutting a small slit in a bog-standard placcy bag, squeezing it down and putting tape over the hole!

GBM - I too am knackered! was thinking about doing Long Tour Of Bradwell on Saturday, but not going to bother - have an evil plan to get 4 more longs runs in, plus a week's hols  before BS

P.S. do either you or J8 know what the winning time was at DDD?
