Hi everyone

missed the church bench meet I just couldn't find it,Following directions are not my best point

Missed out on my 4hr target by two minutes but have to say I had nothing left in the legs so no regrets from me, the heat is just not something we are used to in Scotland, I am at the airport waiting for my flight home I am so sunburnt the wife is going to think I have had a cheeky weekend  in the med !!

Bag is packed, boarding card printed, last foam roll completed  final coffee before heading off to Glasgow Airport for the 2.10 flight to London City

Can't decide on xpo on arrival or tomorrow morning, will decide on the plane, my hotel is close to Liverpool St station.

I know I am starting at Greenwich so if that is the church location I will try to make it for the meet up, not even looked at how to get to the start line yet

PB for me today also at Alloa, running 9mm miles went out of the window as I decided this morning to give the injury a good test to see how it felt after a decent pace, leg was tight all the way around but was manageable.

Finished in Garmin time 1.43.36 a four minute PB on the back of hardly any running for the last three weeks, well chuffed and about to head out for a couple of celebration beers,

Runbikecat the Alloa 10 mile hill is not really that bad but there again after doing the Isle of Arran half and relay any other hills  feel wee !

I ran Alloa last year really well organised, hope its dry as the west coast is its usual wet n dull norm today

I will be well behind your pace in my Troon Tortoise club vest,

VLM pack arrived today, I am not going to open until I see how I feel after tomorrow's run, don't want to tempt running fate.

Touch wood and all that I ran four miles Tuesday and four tonight with minimal pain, the foam rolling and tennis ball sessions seems to have worked so I am going to give Alloa half marathon a shot on Sunday, however I think I will have to run it no faster than 9mm pace as if I blow up again London is out,

its taken me three weeks to run with hardly any pirifous and quad pain, interesting to hear about lower back pain that's where mine started and its still twingeing so Defo a link, some post marathon work required I feel in this area

Sunshine !!! You lucky people, here in Scotland in was the usual run in the rain, slow six miler to test out the injury, much easier than yesterdays miserable two miles which hurt like hell, the last 24 hours I have foamrolled myself to a standstill so I think the legs preferred the run to another session on the mat today.

I have missed three full weeks of running and while still not pain free I am feeling more positive, I even bought new kit as a motivation today plus a good little hand held rolling machine that fits into my travel bag for when I am away

Enjoy the weather as I write this the hail is bouncing off the conservatory !!

Not been posting for a couple of weeks seems I have been stretching and foam/tennis ball rolling for ever to try and rid the pirifous pain, it seems to have settled down with only some lower back pain so tomorrow I am also going to try a light jog, my first for two whole weeks

I travelled from Manchester to Glasgow  sat and rolling on a tennis ball this afternoon some very strange looks from adjacent pax but you've got to do what you've got to do !!

Well I have my diagnosis and its one I was not hoping for Piriformis syndrome, litterarly a pain in the butt !!

More stretching icing and golf ball rolling for the next week only swimming and cross trainer allowed sat at home and the sun is shining typical after all that training in the rain
