Loneliness and the Long Distance Runner

Posted: 13/06/2014 at 11:37

"They even seem to have a life that excludes me"  -  is a little troubling, but I would ask how much training you're doing?

Perhaps if you're out of the house for many hours a day, particularly at weekends, they have had no choice but to do their own thing?

Does every runner have the potential to run 1.5 miles in 7 minutes flat

ZekeDE - it might also be worth having a look at arrse.co.uk (if you haven't already)  if you have any more specific questions relating to selection.

Question about Karrimor Excel Shoes.

Equally though, I would say that if the Nike shoes were around £30, they were probably not appropriate either.

I have no experience of either race, but just wanted to bump up this thread in order to show Quirky that we are quite friendly, and that we are holding out a hand of support to him/her during their endeavours.

What does making drugs illegal serve to do?

...and cars are harmful...and too much water is harmful

..so goes the argument.

So, make them legal.

Who's going to ensure purity?  Will that be taxed? Who's going to mop up the aftermath (physical/mental).

Making them legal will not mean the users will suddenly become responsible citizens.

Running advice given out on the BBC

Probably best not to listen to the BBC at all when it talks about running.

Good ideas for RW articles

"Bananas - is there nothing that this miracle food can not do ?"

"What to do with your old trainers" - i.e. garden planters, homes for mice, boating toys for children

"The faux pas of running" - i.e. men in capris, turning up at the Marathon Expo in your gear, warming up 2 hours before the event

Interviews - not the usual suspects, but with the people you'd really like to chat to.  The people who start at the front despite only being capable of 15min miles, the nice lady who 'shares' her music with you via iPhone on her arm, the smokers at events, people who shout 'Oggy Oggy Oggy' etc etc.

Oh, and no menus, thanks.
