Brighton Marathon 2016

Posted: 30/03/2016 at 23:12

Why not drive to Shoreham, Southwick or Portslade? In fact Portslade is great for spectators as they can wander down to the seafront and watch the race...plus make their way to the finish if they want.

For those looking for accommodation, you might be lucky with the Black Lion at Patcham otherwise, try along the coast towards Worthing. Or Lewes.

Don't what ever you do buy a NCP car park spot in North Street/Church rd, the road closes at 6am and you won't be able to access it. This happened to quite a few last year.

Hello..it is a number of years since I have posted here...forgiven me father

Anyway, I am currently helping a couple of local charities in a coaching capacity and one of them, Whoopsie daisy has one place left, you just need to feel happy raising £500. http://www.whoopsadaisy.org/  Drop me a PM if you are interested.

Good luck all of you and I'll look forward to seeing you all galloping around the St Peters Church area on race day.

I don't feel the love for Natalie either.  Hoping Abbie Clancy says to the end so I can drool over Alijaz.

I guess it makes a change to have too many volunteers...

I know why I always offer my services but I guess it also helps that James is a great guy though and very appreciative of his volunteers.

Looking after your feet in an Ultra

I did change my shoes and socks once..not really sure why but I thought it was the done thing!   Funny enough my pre race anxiety was very much focussed on blisters..lord knows why as I can't remember the last time I had one..Berlin 2008 ish I think?

I always wear Hilly twinskins and have since time began and I use Xenofit on my feet..which contains deer musk  sorry lovely deers!

When I feel like being a bit girly I do give my feet a bit of a pamper, oh and I always have my toe nails painted  even though they have a tendancy to drop off!

Trashed legs after 100 miler

Posted: 24/06/2013 at 19:41

I think we expect a lot of ourselves and probably too much at times. A week on from my aborted 100 (at 80 miles) my legs feel ok except for a niggle behind my knee but when I had to do a bit of running on a coaching course yesterday..I just felt flat..in fact I felt flat of mind too...but that is another ball game to play!
