O4S: I cant imagine that anyone would be brave enough to get in your way.

Chick: that sounds way to violent for me

Carrot: you really are running well these days, nice YKW

Brol: nice out there yesterday wasnt it!

2Old / Brol. Up Comrade runs tend to be a bit hot and sticky, Durban is quite a humid place even in winter and whilst Petermaritzberg is higher and cooler it will be warm by the time you get there. The first half of the Up Comrades is much harder than the second half, Fields hill is a long haul with a terrible road camber, either run in the rain gutter or go out to the centre reservation (its usually a lot quieter at the centre).  The second half is undulating until you get to Polly's which is a steep old haul with 50 miles in your legs, I personally have never managed to run all the way up it during a Comrades, dont forget to smile for the TV cameras at the top. From the top its 10K to the finish, job done. Make sure you have your nutrition plan nailed before you start, its the key along with sensible pacing to Comrades.

off for a trendy 5 now

Yeovil ½ M for me in 1-48-01 which is about what i expected after 5 weeks of running in circles, torrential rain, gales and hills didnt help, finished 323/1407 so probably not as bad as I thought was also 4/17 of runners from my club so the bad run thought rattling around my head is probably not quite right.  Did 5 miles before but ditched the two after, soaked! Must now get some 20 milers in, 5 weeks to marathon. Today was one of those days when you just know from the first step that its not going to happen!

2Old: well done great result.

O4S: I feel that BA may well expect something fairly demanding today, you have him well trained.

Chick: of course it hurt any 56mile run hurts! But tbh it was no worse than the second Comrades I did prior to which I did several 30milers. The third and quickest of my Comrades was run off a lot more long runs, but more importantly I had learnt how to pace a ultra, even ran negative splits!

Who makes Sayonaras?

Home again, having two days off as after last nights club speed session during which I felt as if I should be asleep in bed I decided I am tired and need a break. ½ M on Sunday and i will need a 3 mile warm up and cool down to get a long ine in, as no long runs for 6 weeks.

O4S: its been cold here too, enjoy your event tomorrow.

Barry: that CNBA fairy is a little sod welll done for sending him away

Chick; agreed Kinvara arent what they were but havent found anything else yet.

Brol: for my first Comrades I never ran beyond 13 miles after qualifying 4 months in advance, you will be fine. My beat Comrades came off. 3 x 35 mile training runs

O4S: Dorset is indeed beautiful which is why I live there! Well done for staying with BA!!

2Old: just the odd 22K warm up for the 10K then, nice. I was looking for Liverpool to beat Utd, didn't bank on Gerrard to be a fool.

Nell: No treadmill on here, its a Dive support vessel not a rig so there's not a lot of room. Hibs must be bad if Rangers beat them

Chick: Your the Girl, nice long run

Leaving this heap of rust today, fly home tomorrow. Will probably have a trot in Abu Dhabi this evening. Beer and Pork on the horizon!!

England... so close.

O4S: Does BA consider not be left on his won a reward or a penance?

AA: Back home sometime this week then off to Spain for easter and some serious mountain cycling from my Hacienda. I'm sure there will be a bar somewhere in Boston showing the FA Cup, Google usually works!

2Old: Its not intervals in the true sense of the word but it was certainly an effort above normal plodding, One ends up running at an inward leaning angle as if on a fairground ride!

Think I will rest today or maybe trot / walk 5K to pass the time.

O4S: Ditch the 20 for a 30, im sure there is logic in there somewhere

Barry: a very tasty 20 when tired.

Carrot: Good luck with the 10, i love 10 mile races, not to short and not too long. Sometimes I lose count, but amazingly given the 19M diameter my Garmin is pretty accurate and counted laps V measured distance are usually within ½ a lap. Running around a centre circle is nuts.

Nell: moderate pace? Hmmm

Chick: i didn't race for months and started again in Feb, realised how much i had missed it. Your on the way back!

2Old; thats the problem with 5K races, go out to fast and your done inside 4 mins!

7 x 800 off 90secs for me today, not very quick cos i have to change direction every 5 paces, all around the 3-30 mark but perceived effort was what it was all about, home next week and really need some long runs before Marathon on 03/05.

Barry: Bad days happen to remind us of the good days

O4S: As usual you don't let life's problems get in the way.

Chick: Hungary sounds good, hard to believe its been a year since Boston.

Nell: That would be a sprint for me these days

2Old: Come and have a go at North Dorset Village Marathon May 2016, its fun! At least 5 spectators guaranteed.

Off to the Heli deck in minute for another wind swept 5 or 6 miles, depending when the "god I'm bored" moment kicks in. Longest I've managed was 12 miles, really need longer but there are limits!!!!

2Old: Yes I change direction every 17 laps.... only 7 days more!

Hi Folks

Just  a quick drop in to show I'm still alive, have been offshore for a month so far running 50 mile weeks around a helideck, 17 laps to 1K. Mind bogglingly boring and hard on the joints running on steel. Home soonish

Some nice racing going on folks, Particularly please to see a debut duathlon.. welcome to the dark side Minni and start saving for that carbon  tri bike!
