Fortune favours the brave so they say, so I refuse to worry.

2Old: going to set off at 4 hour pace and see if I can hold on. Did 6 miles last night x country at a very suprisingly comfortable 8 min/mile pace and leg was the best its been for weeks, so severe taper might just be working. Have a horrible feeling that the wheels will come off at 16 miles though.

Will do 25 miles or so on the bike later.

It will be a fun run for me for sure, but given the lack of training probably not much fun! Off for my last runbefore Boston withclub, will cycle tomorrow and Thursday trying to give my leg a chance!

2Old: fingers crossed for you.

some great reports there folks, top work all.

O4S: magic as always

Col: very impressive.

Ant: you've come a long way, well done

AA: well toughed out

Jack: good effort

kfc: lack of training will find me out on Monday as well but Im expecting it!

Minni: hope the alcohol deadened the pain.

Free: theres always the next one, shit happens.

Mo: I'm not all surprised by his result , the marathon is a race which few race well the first time around.

2Old: take it easy pal

Chick: I have taken the no change to time zone approach, fly in Saturday night and i will stay on UK time.

my club mate amazed me yesterday, he ran 3-02 at Manchester then told me he was going for a PB at London to which i suggested no way, he ran 2-53 which begs the question how quick can he be if he actually concentrates on one race.

in an effort to allow my groin / knee to have the best chance of survival I have been running every second day, with some cycling thrown in, tomorrow will be my last run and then it will be cycling only. On last Thursdays intervals several club mates noted i was limping and there was me thinking I was OK! Two hours on the bike this morning 2,500 feet of climbing and a lot of fun.

AA: enjoy the beers, you have earnt that champ start

Pink: if you think drafting is like being in a washing machine give a triathlon swim start a go! There was the day i got kicked repeatedly in the face at a turn buoy which happened to be a shallow point on the course, i actually stood up to see who it was and realised that guy withthe huge grin was my best mate! I was so angry that I swam awy from him the only time i ever did that.

Minni: Suck it and see, got to be wortha shot.

Chick: plenty of time for the niggles to calm down

2old: Sunshine? Off to Spain ?

Rest day for me, phew! Also debating whether to do one more16 miler or just taper in, i suspect that canning the 16would be the wise decision BUT!

Minni: hoping you will be fine, seem to remember similar tales before?

2Old: not tempted to revise target at all, as club coach pointed out I now run with a limp! Doesn't hurt but something ain't right!

Darren: ran 3-21 off  a 1-31 half so your in the right ball park.

Took my aero bike out for the first time since November, had forgotten how fast that thing is! 23 miles in 1-08 same ride took me 1-31 on my cyclo cross bike last week.

Darren: Speedy, very.

2old: keep icing

Chick: well slogged

Freemers: Im sure your glad thats done

So my taper was a speed session at the club! 1 mile warm up, 2 x 1 mile, 2 x 800, 2 x 400, 1 mile cool down, wasnt wearing a garmin but was running with the 1-45 ½ marathoners so could have a good guess!

2old: fingers crossed for you but im suspecting the first signs of taper madness.

O4S: ambitious targets but having seen you in action over 11 miles, very doable.

Today was a horrendous 18.5 miles for me, it was one of those days when you dont want to even make a start, felt knackered after 5K! But struggled to get around in somewhere around 3-10 including the walks! It was only when i was in the shower and realised that i had run about 63 miles in the past 7 days that it dawned! Zero to + 60 mile weeks in 4 wweks is a big ask at anytime. Dont think last nights club tempo 7 miles in 52 mins did much for my legs today either, going to taper down now.
