Just a Little Bit Further - 2014

Posted: Today at 10:36

I now Franny but I really don't know how I ever managed it when I'm struggling to run 3 miles . I will get there though, I feel so much better lately.

Wow Franny that's some race list .

Moooooorning, hoping to head out for a run in a bit although have a bit of a stinky cold. Signing up for my second race of the year in a bit too, the Great Midlands Fun run. I'm hoping that it gives me some motivation.

Hope everyone is okay.

Morning 330, I know how you feel. I have a fave  running jacket and it was bursting at the seams, that and I split my work trousers .  Do you change your eating habits too or do you just rely on running and upping the miles?  What is the Monkey tag challenge ?

I am signing up for a couple of runs this year in the hope that I can keep myself motivated. So far I have a 5k and an 8.5 miler. I did put in for the Great North ballot and would love to do it again but will see if I get a place.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

JR looks like I'm in the right place then , my oldest daughter has an obsession with baking which doesn't help my diet much at all. Its so easy to put weight on but you cant say no when they make the effort to bake. When is your marathon?

I did a 10 miler a few years ago and beat my team m8 who ran it solid and I had walk breaks. I used to get frustrated as I couldn't run without stopping but now I just walk when I need to and save a bit of energy for a bit of a sprint now and again.

I love it, I lost nearly 6st a couple of years ago but then I stopped going and I put over 2st back on. That's good that you get a discount at your gym. Have you done a marathon before? I bet the loch ness one is lovely to do.

I managed a little 3 mile plod this afternoon as the snow had disappeared. My eating plan was on track too till hubby decided we should have cake. I love cake

That's a shame franny but like you say, better safe than sorry. I hope you manage your 14 miler on Sunday. Our snow has gone now so just back from a little 30 min hilly one.

Our club has lost a lot of its members lately so I was looking to join another eventully. They do have a slower group that I could run with but its more the set distance that I'm worried about as its longer than I have been running. I just want to build up a little bit more and then I may join up. I do love the social aspect of club running.

I never made it tonight as it was cancelled due to the possibility of ice. I'm reluctant to go much though as I'm worried about injury. When I'm on my own I can stop but you feel you have to keep going with a club. I haven't signed up this year and not sure if I will.

Thanks Mummysaurus. I do slimming world as I find it works well for me. I'm just hoping that my injuries will ease when the weight has gone again. I suffer with my feet a lot and I don't think the extra strain is helping. Good luck with your Marathon training, which one are you doing?

Its such a tough time for them isn't it Mathschick. We have just had our 6th form meeting for our middle girl. She has an idea but not completely sure what she wants to do. I was hoping for snow today but we don't have any at all.

No running for me yet this week, I may pop up to running club, not been for ages.
