Things you want to say but can't

Posted: 15/08/2013 at 20:28

Open your eyes!

Would you want to know when and how you will die?

Posted: 15/08/2013 at 20:26

I am thinking... people want to know that so that they would finally get the right or the go-ahead to actually start living this life.

How many times have I had that conversation: "If you knew you had a month to live, what would you do with the time you have?"

Most people are so desperate to actually live and enjoy what this mundane life has to offer, but for some reason they don't. Then they play with the thought that if they knew for definite when this ends, it would make them actually live this life...

I would say no. I don't know what tomorrow has to offer. I only ever have this moment. Who knows about anything else. Live now

Maybe this life would seem a little bit better if we surrended to our body's or subconsious's experience in the moment rather than try to work things out in our heads and find reasons for everything, plan the future and be stuck in the past.

Mind has been conditioned from the birth, by our parents, siblings, society, schools, everything. Everything that we believe is actually someone else's idea. There's always someone who got there first. The mind is so conditioned by all these things. Religion, culture, fashion... Which part in us really is the authentic self and the part that knows what is right for us?

Maybe it really is the subconcious, or the body's true response. The gut feel. What ever you call it. The one that our mind so easily over-rides with shoulds and musts and shouldn'ts and mustn'ts.

Because in all fairness we do live this life with our body, our organs, our nerves and impulses in our brain. The mind is the one who is trying to make some sense out of these things with it's conditioned experiences.

I was actually going to suggest a possibility, that what if it is actually our subconcious that decides for us.... our conscious mind only follows and pays attention to certain thoughts.... taking all the credit for itself living a life fooled that it is in control but it actually hasn't got a say in anything...

Do you believe in free will? If so, why? If not, why not?

Cross Bay Challenge 2013

I didn't find the terrain tough at all, it was much easier than I prepared myself for.

Sand was hard and the few puddles along the way don't even compare to the mud pits I've been through.

However....

I found it really tough in general. I'm not used to run that distance on such flat surface. West Yorkshire is full of hills so all my training is up and down up and down. So when running on flat, using the same muscles repetatively for 13 miles, takes it out of me.

Also, my Garmin measured the route being 12.39 miles so did we miss a mile somewhere?

In general, happy with the day. Weather stayed good and the seawater was nice. Such a beautiful part of the country too.

Happy to have done it, but I think I will stick with hills, it's what I know best

Im staying in grange over sands. Not far from the finish line. I'll be driving up tomorrow and having nice chilled afternoon somewhere there near the lakes before getting ready for the run. I'm scared too.  But excited. I think it will be a tough one

I signed up for this in 2009 but never ran it. Been meaning to do it since. Finally signed up again.

By the looks of the photos in the website gallery, I think I won't be carrying my mobile with me. It might get a bit wet

Is anyone else getting a coach from the finish to start line?
