VLM Ballot

I heard that it wasn't random... they tack finishing time into account as well to get a spread of runners..

A friend got in the ballot first time saying her target time was 7hrs she did it in sub 4! Of course it could of been just luck!

Red your making me feel lazy...

Anniesophie, I felt the worst post marathon on Wednesday this week, I gave into, left work at lunch time and went too bed. (I couldn't sleep but rested). The next morning I was a different person. So my answer to your question is yes it is normal, and I think it hits everyone at different times.

I think a tip for future marathon runners at VLM would be as you go through birdcage walk onto The Mall is to follow the blue line closely. I tried to avoid the crowds and went wide to be less congested and have no photos of me finishing or coming down the mall... very disappointed as have no decent photos...

They stopped the '5 rejection and your in on your 6th application' rule a few years back, but said they would honour the agreement for a few more years. I think 2014 London Marathon will be the last year the rule will be appled!

Red....nice work 7.25 miles.. sounds idillic seen some photos on your blog too (not stalking you too much promise)

Yes agree about the spectating thing.. I was so upset when I missed my family at mile 15. They were at Cutty Sark, 15, 18 and birdcage (all very busy spots) so scanning crowd was difficult (they had a helium balloon , but with the wind it didnt work very well) In future if i did it again I would have them at quieter spots...

Did I just right 'If i did it again', it was never again yesterday!!!
