Hi all and hope everyone ok.

Toby. Sorry you haven't been well. Not surprised the body has protested. You've given it a hammering the last year and its treated you well with all those super duper races and PBs. Glad you've rested, recharged batteries and getting back out there.

Well all very quiet on here, but I'm sure we all want to wish our lovely friend, Nessie, a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! And a special one at that. Much love my darling xxxxxx

Snowdonia marathon 2013

Posted: 03/05/2013 at 22:28

Hello everyone - good to hear everyone's running news- well done on recent success. I'd signed up for Trail Marathon Wales but I've had to pull out of the full marathon due to illness, and have contacted the organisers to pass place on but they've suggested I post here also. My sister and I have booked a holiday cottage in Dolgellau for the Friday and Saturday and could transfer this, too, if required - very reasonable and picture-perfect Snowdonia stone cottage - the owner is also participating in the race also so can act as guide.

In box me for details if interested.

Thank you for letting me interrupt your busy thread.

Toby - rest!!!!!

I'm getting over losing my guaranteed place at London for next year and am contemplating some very exotic location running for next year instead. Will keep Boston in mind but will be massively over-subscribed when the ballot opens in September.

Gorgeous day here- totally dressed for Summer, but no run for me - off to Mid-Wales for birthday bash.

CB - so concerned to hear how poorly your Mum has been - hope she's home soon. It's so hard on a family with all the worry  of a loved one in hospital. And real life going on, too! Good on you for getting out on a stress- busting run.

LBB - hope your wife feels better soon- she will reflect on her achievement with pride soon, I'm sure.

Seejay - did you get your ballot entry in? Thought you'd  have unfinished business with VLM . Just think....if it all goes right -You'd do a stormer!

Kev- I got 2nd degree burns on my nose last week in Oxford, only 23deg but SO unused to sunshine. I'd packed mostly Winter clothing but we were in shorts and vests. My daily  runs were fab- all around perimeter of Blenheimthen Oxford Parkrun Saturday. Blistered nose frightened the natives.

Ness - cant believe you have a job on top of everything else! how on earth do you do it? You, my girl, are a force of nature!

Toby, so pleased to hear your recovery is going to plan -like your training. Your wife sound on form, too.

VLM limit reached after 12 hours - it apparently opened around 3am. I'm gutted as they've announced the GFA times for 2014 and although  they've made some times easier, my banding time has been lowered by 15 mins!!! Sort of upset but worse things could happen as CB could verify. Will just have to run faster!

Well done all at the VLM. I'm sure you are extremely proud of your very courageous wife, LBB! Tell her very well done. x
I gather from comments, that Seejay has been on the thread but now I can't see his posts- and yes, I've checked"ignore". What is going on? I've caught up with him via text so know about the fall. Seejay, you have unfinished marathon business, but I agree, it's very time consuming - do what I do and get 2 out of one lot of training?
In Oxford for a few days. Just planned a nice circular run for tomorrow.

Toby - will do. Hope you feel well? 8 miles as a recovery shows how solid you are.
Nessie. Check your "My Forum" - you may have accidentally marked Toby as "ignore" - just unclick? Now please don't give up on your Half yet! You'll be feeling better soon, I'm sure. Xxx
I agree about the horror of Boston. I genuinely believe this will be the safest VLM for a longtime, so am not worried about travelling up to spectate....BUT, I wouldn't let my grandchildren go!
Great running CB - what's your next target race?
LBB - are both you and your wife running London? If so, all the very best for a wonderful experience. Hope all goes as well as possible.
Seejay, hope your day also goes to plan and you have a massive PB. But most importantly, enjoy your first London - it will a fantastic experience! Unlike other marathons, it's so much about the occasion and the razzmatazz..

I've done loads of running - too much actually. 6 runs on the trot(?) in 6 days, including a very strenuous run with a group much too quick for me, a Parkrun PB, a 17miler in dire weather. Then my Monday track session- 1 mile Indian file, 4x 1k speeding up from 8min miling to 7:15mm with a pyramid to finish and then a cool down. So yesterday, I only managed a 3 mile plod instead of the usual quick 7 last night. Rest tonight as I have sore knees, surprise, surprise!

Anyway, MASSIVE PBs all!!! I'll keep a look out for you- I'm hoping to be at mile 15/22 (Marathon Talk group) with a huge Welsh flag.
