I just found out that the wedding we couldn't go to last week had (besides a sit down meal) a candy buffet, a cake buffet and a CHEESE buffet!!

took Murray out for a walk this morning - well we got as far as the end of the driveway and she fell over...3 times - very icy (she wasn't hurt and there is something hilarious about a big golden retriever slipping and sliding on the ice...wish I had my camera lol) - we abandoned the walk in fears for our safety

So have you been wearing your Christmas jumper today?

Afternoon all - DaddyGFB is home (yay!!  ) still very poorly but at least he's out...mum has the heating on stun so he should be able to relax.

In mundane bin news - they're rolling out the new brown bins here - they're tiny!!  It's like a miniature of the black bin - not sure how this is going to work out - it means my black bin will only go out every 3rd week! I foresee a regular run to the dump in my future!  (to clarify - there are 2 brown bins - one for inside the house for food waste etc  which will be provided with special bin bags to keep any smell down - and a brown bin for outside into which the bin bags go...both are small!!  - pictures to follow hopefully)

I will now return you to your regularly scheduled mundaness

How to get away with murder (really good!)

Luther

I'm making my way back through Lost and enjoying that again

Oh and I've downloaded The Fall to watch - that looks like it should be good

I hear you Bookie - 3 DNAs here yesterday - not so much fun when you're elf-employed (that was a wee Christmas reference there )

DaddyGFB off oxygen and fluids now and put on real food (as opposed to mush) so hopefully things are picking up...I'm still croaking - but don't feel so bad

Recently - The Book Thief...I nearly dehydrated from weeping (thankfully at home!)

(And I had read the book so I knew what was coming - I cried reading the book also)

Morning all - passes round hot tea...it's ice-cubic here!!  No snow though (yay)

DaddyGFB is still very sick - it's two steps forwards, one step back at the minute - but doc's say he's moving in the right direction...I haven't been to see him in a couple of days because I've come down with the bubonic plague or something - I've been in bed all weekend...probably should still be but there's little or nothing I can do about that...self employed joys...I have no voice (well this croaky squeak...which is fun when you consider answering the phone is my primary function lol!!

Hang in there mundanies!!   (no Christmas smileys!? - this place has gone to the dogs!)

Morning all - thanks for all your hugs and kind thoughts - dad is still very ill, very weak and confused (not like him!!)  (in the doctors words he has "very, very bad pneumonia" - not sure how you move from very to very, very in medical terms but there you go) and a lung infection - and because he's been very ill (vomiting) he has very bad sores in his mouth and throat so he's having problems eating and drinking- I've sent over a vat of rice pudding with my mum.

The worst part is that he's been moved into a ward with three other men who talk about FOOTBALL!!   - he's not best pleased!

((hugs to bookie too)) - these dads are very worrisome aren't they!!
