bournemouth marathon on sunday

Posted: 29/09/2015 at 16:40

hi there

im running the bournemouth marathon at 10am on sunday and was planning on parking up near the finish area and getting the shuttle bus to the start area.iv already paid for it but cant see much info about it and have also tried conatcting them many says buses run from 8am and takes around half an hour to get the start area and run 'frequently'.so my question is how many mins is frequent as getting to bournemouth for 8am with a family in tow after gettinmg them up around 6am is going to be tough so just hoped someone may have some knowledge or experience.

thanks in advance

hi all

after cutting my teeth over the past few years with running half marathon races each sunday i have now been bitten by the bug and want to step up to full marathon distance but as some seem to be a far distance away itd be great if i can get my body trained up so recovery time isnt the best part of a week and i can be good to go for back to back multiple day marathons such as enigmas week at the knees or some of the SVN races,so i could do with some tips or help please on for the build up to the multiple days as in how many miles i should be doing and how much rest between training days.what should i be doing post race and pre race foodwise, drinkwise, sleepwise, clotheswise anything that will help aid recovery time 4 days after running the Ox Marathon and did the Dark Ox 10k the evening before and as these were trail races i imagine can take longer to recover then a flat road race.previous to this week i have only done one or two marathons a year with months between them at Brighton, Berlin, Paris and London.i have Kent Roadrunner Marathon Saturday and legs are feeling almost back to normal but want to cut this recovery time down as much as possible.thanks for your time

i only did the half but thought it was a great event and brilliant day out.preferred the slight tweeks to the btr route.ended up beating my btr time from last year by 20 seconds and got my 2nd best ever half time.definate potential in the half route for good times.sounds like a few more bands and the baggage area to be better organised and youv got one of the best race events in the uk.good to feel welcome at the end of the race and not puched out the exit door asap.
