Starting again from the beginning!

That does sound a little bit exclusive - might just be a formality - one member of the comittee proposes and a second member of the comitee then seconds!

The downside of the session we did was that towards the end the coach said run to the end of the road, I hadn't got a clue how far that was so had no idea how to guage the effort!!! Then he turned us round and did some more after we all thought it was a gentle jog back to the club HQ!  In the old days we used to do a similar session where a group of us would do a 10 mile run but we would all take it in turns to dictate the length of the effort and recovery - those were sometimes fun!!

3 times 15 minutes sounds hard!  But you will be flying - did I read you are doing the Great South? I did it a couple of times, once as a training run and ended up with 60 dead, the other was 57:51 - mind was chasing down Steve Cram and Jill Hunter (you are to young to remember Jill Hunter)  They both beat me -

Not sure that you will get anywhere near Samir's proposed 45 minute 10 miles at the Cabbage Patch 10,  but I am pretty sure a low 54 minutes or even better is on the cards.

Well done on getting down to the club JR - I think it will bring you on in leaps and bounds - looking back to when I originally joined my old club, all my big improvements came not from structured speed sessions, but from just running with guys who were a lot faster than me - A lot of my subsequent training was done with a 2:29 marathon runner (so not as quick as your guy) and in the space of 6 months my half time went from 87 to 81 and then another 6 on that and it was down to 78 - and that was based on what were effectively tempo runs week after week.  Big things to come JR!!!

I went to the running club last night as I feel I needed to be able to run with faster runners once in a while. The Wednesday session is a sort of structured session with never more than a minute recovery - efforts measured in minutes and seconds, but you never know how long either the effort or the recovery is, purely dictated by the coach and his whistle.  After a gentle start - it turned into quite a good session, and I found myself towards the front, although a bit behind the speedier boys -

The legs did protest a little bit this morning though, think I might have to change my rest day from Friday to Thursday - Still good to be running in a group again and it might just be what I need to drag me a long a bit.

Tooth update -  touching wood!!

Interesting reading back over the early starts, I very rarely sleep more than 7 hours and my alarm goes off at 5 and am usually out the door by 10 past.

I actually went to a running club last night as I felt I needed to be able to run with faster runners once in a while.

Should hit 40 miles this week.

Hopefully that is the end of it for both of us Ceal.

All about mental strength B2B which you seem to have in bucket loads -

Well done everyone all getting out there.

Me? out most days although have missed the last couple of Sundays - but it is 8 weeks til the Wix 5 mile this week so time to get serious - Running club tomorrow night for the first run with them - so will be running evening rather than morning for a change - can almost have a lie in!!!

Tooth update - dentist has taken one out - hopefully, as it cost me £50.50 for the pelasure of having a very pretty dentist rest her b**bs on me whilst she pulled and tugged my tooth until it came out, the right tooth!

Why not reduce this week back to 37.5 or even less as Ceal suggested - give your body a chance to recover and rebuild following the 4 times 50 mile plus weeks?  Might just be what you need to make further strides forward.

Tooth news - was taken out this morning so hopefully that will be the end of it!!!
