Starting again from the beginning!

Lazy Nic, well done for getting out. I'm pretty sure that there isn't a runner alive that hasn't been verbally abused like that, but as Amy said not one of those guys would be out doing what you are doing.  Could tell you a story or two but may put you off!

Hope the run went well Amy without the reappearance of the eggs.

Alarm went off this morning at 5 for my planned easy 6 miler,   it occured to me when I looked at my watch again that I wasn't 2 miles into my run. I must have dropped off again.  Planned easy 6 turned into a hard(ish) 4 - Rest day tomorrow and whats the betting I won't be able to drop off again!!

Wait until later and go out is the obvious answer once you feel comfortable enough - But if not,  treadmill is fine - running becomes a habit so it is better to get into the habit of doing some form of run than getting into the habit of deciding not to run because of ........................ (insert reason)

I tend to do all my runs at 5 o'clock (except one which was 3:35 am)  so it does tend to be cooler then!

But great progress going on.

Are you really a runner...

Well done on the longest run Amy, that BootCamp.

JR you are going to absolutely stonk that 10K - sub 50 for sure.

Another nice sunny day, after yesterdays whinging, I shut the legs up today and made them work harder than normal. Great to be out and about with no other people around. A mile warm up followed by a minute faster than normal and minute jog between each minute. Did that 25 times until i ran out of time and road. 6 miles

Being Tuesday was time for a quicker run. Off we set my legs and me. From the off my legs started to whinge like a two year old. The run continued and still the legs wouldn't shut up. The stinging nettles gave them something else to think about, the moaning continued and the "faster" run went on, until eventually we got home, only 6 miles, so finally legs we are home so shut up legs.

(haven't told them yet that tomorrow is a mile warm up, followed by 1 minute, 2 minute and 3 minutes fast, off a minute followed by 3, 2, 1 and then probably back up)

Happy Tuesday everyone

Welcome to the thread Slinger, certainly sounds speedy even your current 5k time sounds pretty impressive let alone your 18 minutes.

Glad to see you still plugging away Beach ball and well done lazynic, are now a runner fully fledged.

Lisa 30 odd miles of Hadrians Wall and you break your toe on a jar of tartar sauce.

For me, thanks to a lightening storm I missed Saturday and then ran 12 miles Sunday with a 4:30 start. An easy 4 this morning, far to many people about. Dog walkers, fishermen and drunks.

Finally of course well done B2B. The way you and Lisa just chuck out these miles and marathons. I stand in awe.

Good run there JR - and well done on getting out 330 - Loch Ness is a big target -

No run today - still taking one day off each week - just to catch up on sleep - disturbed at just after 5 o'clock when junior Grendel came int because he couldn't unwrap a lolipop I had found in his school bag.

AN emotional day today - Dropped him off at the Junior school for the last time - it's been an roller coaster of a ride and an amazing journey.

Great British Relay World Record Attempt

Posted: 17/07/2014 at 13:07

I don't understand how there can be a Great British Relay World Record attempt - as if a relay is run round any other coast line than Great Britain it's a different course and therefore there can't be a world record. On the other hand, in the olds when I was reasonable, my club Barking Road Runners, won a version of the London to Brighton Relay which was run from Muswell Hill to the top of Ditchling Beacon. We knocked over an hour off the then course record, which I suppose makes us technically the World Record Holders for the London to Brighton (starting in Muswell Hill and finishing on the top of Ditchling Beacon) Relay - (we lost it to Serpentine the following year but they cheated and put a lot of ringers in though wheras we only had one).

I suppose World Record sounds better than Great British Relay Course Record attempt

ANd I have never been on this site before either and I'm not Paul (well OK I have been on it before but have never posted) ((Well OK I have posted on it before but nothing that ever made sense)).
