Snowdonia Marathon 2012

Posted: 10/01/2013 at 15:10

Apologies for butting in - was wondering whether there was anyone here who did the 2012 race and stayed at Erw Fair - a B&B on the High St in Llanberis?  And would mind me contacting them about the B&B with a brief query?  Know it's a long shot, but thanks.

Hash, you've made me laugh (Mr Gawjus) and cry on the same page (your description to Alison of that wall of folks from mile 23... I blubbed).
Mark, lovely to see some proud dad pics from last weekend.

Bridget and Vix, hope you storm tomorrow's run.

Pinks, really hope things go well for Mr T on Mon. Enjoy that run tomorrow with your club. Galling, but the cliche is true - there will be a race next year.

Hash, will be thinking of you both on the 13th. Hope to goodness it isn't a double whammy, but know you have the strength and humour to cope with whatever is thrown at you.

For all running on the 17th - have a fab fab time. I won't be doing a spring marathon this year, and instead will be somewhere on a bumpy road <need a green smiley here> between Chitwan and Pokhara. Tomorrow sees the start of a bit of a 'trip of a lifetime' for my brood, to visit my BIL & SIL, nephew & niece who live in Kathmandu. Have packed some kit - don't intend to run much but if I can I'd love to 'join in' and get a mile or two in on the 17th. Will be thinking of you guys.

oh so true - my 2010 VLM would've been perfectly paced for a sub 4:30 if I had run 'just' 26.2 miles. Instead with the extra xxx metres I got a finish time of 4:31:42. On the positive I have a goal to beat when I do my next one!

Rod & Kim, just love that pic of the two of you on Sunday. Fab. And great times for those running 20 miles or more last weekend. Seriously in awe. And madly jealous that there's no mara for me this Spring. The time will come again tho.

Mark, I love reading your quotes every day Chatsworth House eh, v swish, hope it goes with a swing

Suze - sadly not. Last year I did VLM then Snowdonia in Oct and Firenze in Nov. My bad suffered big time with the hills and the mileage I was doing so I promised DH 'no more maras for the moment'. Of course didn't define how long 'the moment' would last However have had my fate sorted for me, as I didn't get a VLM ballot place, and we're away for 3 wks over Easter, so that rules out the Great Welsh Mara, Shakespeare and others. Still, I'm on here looking for some way to capitalise on what I've done today. Which is blumin cheeky really considering my longest run since Firenze was Bath Half a fortnight ago <blush>

I am due to do Forest of Dean Trails half next weekend - haven't done that before. Looking forward to it, but still have to sort a lift/give a lift as don't really want to go all that way alone.

I really really really want to do Snowdonia again in the autumn. Although London is such an event, Snowdonia was def. my fave mara from last year, cos it just pushed me out of my comfort zone so much.
