Well done guys.

Jonnie,

I didn't notice that when I looked at the photos first.  I see what you mean.

Well done guys & thanks

MG7,

I'm not too sure how local you are to me, however this was a race Portsmouth Joggers used to run, but it wasn't ran last year due to 'safety problems' with the route & Denmead Striders took over the race this year.  Apparently they've never organised a race and they did a sterling job.  I've got to be honest & say that I prefer the old route because it was more uphill/flat and I do run better uphill, however the views were better with this route and the last 3k where just about acceptable with the downhill gradient.  If you're on fetch I think you'll be able to see the route I put up (I use the same user name as on here) so you'll be able to see what the course was really like.

Take care of yourself.

Jonnie,

Why 19?

Well done guys.

MG,

Awesome.

----------

Denmead 10k report

The first 2 miles were uphill, next mile was mainly down with an uphill section.  After 3 miles there was quite a large hill which was just over .5 miles in length.  Then it was downhill from 4 miles to the finish.  With how my training had I knew I was going to be last and by the first 3k I was second last and run/walking with the sweep person.  4k I picked up another marshall and then by 8k marker I had another 2-3 marshalls.  9k marker saw me pick up another 2 marshalls.  I'm pleased with my time as I said to Chris if I have a good run think 1hr 15 however realistically thought it was going to be 1hr 24.  End result was 1:18:09.  There were some cracking views however as it was cloudy I couldn't see too far.  Before next year's race (providing they run it) I'll definitely be doing the course again as practice before the race.

Well done guys.

Tek,

Thanks.  I'm feeling much better.  I've got tomorrow off and a shed load of things to do which is going to include a 4 mile run, perhaps 5 depending on how I feel.
