Well done guys & great reports.

------

No running for me yesterday - we dashed up to Norwich as Chris' Grandad had a heart attack and didn't get back until very late last night.

Well done guys.

NP,

As much as I love 5k racing there is no way in this world a parkrun very Saturday is going to happen!  I work every other Saturday

Tek,

I'm really surprised at that turn of speed myself.

OH,

That's an awesome result because Elspeth doesn't hang about.

Hook 2 mile report

Got to the start about 20 mins before which is leaving it a bit late for me however Chris decided he wasn't going to go at the last minute as he did something to his knee.  However I did get there in time to see the 10 mile runners including Charlotte Purdue go past who went on to win the ladies race.  So unfortunately I didn't get to have a good look at a course map first although it did look very similar to the previous years' 2.5 mile course in reverse and missing out a chunk at the top of the map.

I'd already decided since this was the first time in a long while I'd run 2 miles I was going to aim for 11:30 min mile pace I'd take things easy and found a dad and his little girl (who was doing her first race) to run with as they seemed to start out at the pace I wanted to run at.  The first mile came and went in 11:18 and then we slowed considerable for the 2nd mile (12:04).  By this time we had hit the finishing straight and I was definitely not prepared how quickly this little lass sprinted however all 3 off us managed to beat Elvis and the final split (.12 miles) came in at 7:24 pace.  The mum (she did the 10 mile race) was waiting at the finish for her daughter and hubby and she also had a good race.   I think she said she finished either 3rd lady overall or 3rd in her age group.  Overall time was 24 min 16 (ave pace 11:26 min miles).

Well done guys,

MG, OH & Dr Dan,

Good luck for your races.

Thanks guys.  My 2 mile race is in Hook.  It's a new course as they use to do a 2.5 mile race.  I've decided to send my chip back for the 10k I'd got in London in a couple of weeks time.  I know I'm not ready for a 10k yet.  I may see if I can get something more local August/September time.

Well done guys.

Ollie,

I think it would depend on what the light is like part of me wants to say red but the other a fuschia.
